Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 8 Top Picks

Last modified date

The new season of German League football continues! So, we take a look at the Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 8 top picks. Bundesliga Fantasy expert and regular contributor @Big4FPL reveals three of the best defenders, midfielders and forwards for the new round.

The Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 8 top picks can be extremely useful for managers. With lots of changes to the game this season it could be difficult to adjust for managers. But the following top picks can help you bring clarity to some of the decisions you have to make ahead of the deadline.

Defenders – Maximilian Mittelstädt (17m – 9%)

The Stuttgart/Kiel fixture is the best to target for fantasy returns this week and in Mittelstädt you are getting a defender who will make duals, crosses and potentially bag an assist. Off the back of a great display vs Juventus, if you can stretch to Mittelstädt, then he is a banker.

Dayot Upamecano – (12m – 16%)

Upamecano has quietly been one of the top defenders this season, racking up duals each game and lots of forward passes in a dominant Bayern side. Although Bochum may not pose much threat for him to rack up duals, his floor should still be 150 points.

Tom Rothe (7m – 15%)

Is it wrong to include him for a second week on the bounce? The best budget wing-back in the game right now, a goal and assist in the previous fixture topped off an outstanding week and I’m backing him to continue that form vs Frankfurt. He may be more dependent on duals in this one, but I still think he’s a must buy.

Midfielders – Nadiem Amiri (13m – 2%)

Amiri hasn’t hit less than 200 points in any fixture this season, other than when he was red carded. A match against Gladbach gives him another chance to continue this form and provide a solid mid priced option for our midfields.

Tom Bischof (5m – 4%)

He isn’t the most exciting pick, but one that banks on Hoffenheim’s good run of fixtures and at the bargain price of 5m is a strong option if opting for a 442 with a playing bench. A match against Heidenheim gives him a chance to build on his previous score of over 200.

Angelo Stiller (11m – 5%)

I would pick Enzo Millot here, but given his ownership, I’ll back a different Stuttgart asset to deliver. Angelo Stiller hasn’t quite hit the points that would have seen him have an average of 170+ in the previous season but with a prime fixture vs Kiel, I anticipate a 200+ showing.

Forwards – Deniz Undav – (13m – 14%)

We welcome another Stuttgart player. Despite a 58 point showing vs Bayern, I’m backing Stuttgart’s home form and a prime fixture vs Kiel for Undav to have his first huge haul of the season. Their UCL match was on Tuesday so I would expect he starts this one and comes away with returns.

Tim Kleindienst – (12m – 10%)

Kleindienst has quietly gone about his business returning an average of 199 – the benefit here is his floor isn’t too low due to the aerial duels he wins and being the main striker being supplied with shots. But, I can see him scoring well again in this one.

Donyell Malen (12m – 1%)

Backing Dortmund seems like a lottery right now, but with Adeyemi still out, I can see Malen following up his goal vs Madrid with another return against an out of sort Augsburg. At 1% ownership and with Dortmund needing goals to make up for their leaky defence, I think he’s worth a punt.
