Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 7 Top Picks

Last modified date

The new season of German League football continues! So, we take a look at the Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 7 top picks. Bundesliga Fantasy expert and regular contributor @Big4FPL reveals three of the best defenders, midfielders and forwards for the new round.

The Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 7 top picks can be extremely useful for managers. With lots of changes to the game this season it could be difficult to adjust for managers. But the following top picks can help you bring clarity to some of the decisions you have to make ahead of the deadline.

Note: Off the back of the international break, the unlimited transfer period is back. This gives us all an opportunity to bring in the essentials alongside a few differentials that add some excitement to the week. In this article I’ll avoid the obvious picks and provide the one-week picks that can give a boost to your rank. I’m currently 196th overall, following a relatively poor week before the break that knocked me out of the top 100 . I’m hoping a couple of the assets below can boost me back into those double-digit ranks!

Defenders – Ramy Bensebaini (11m – 0% Owned)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 7 Top Picks

Hold on, selecting a Dortmund defender after their worse start to a league season for a long time and having conceded nine goals in their last three league games? Worry not, this fantasy game isn’t geared towards clean sheets. So, in Bensebaini I’m backing someone with potential for attacking returns, lots of duels and playing a newly promoted Pauli team who haven’t been convincing in attack or defence.

With Couto confirmed out and Ryerson/Sule doubts, I expect Bensebaini to start and with a Friday night kick-off we will have that confirmed before the deadline in any case. Although I’m not including him as a direct pick, one alternative Dortmund player to monitor here is the youngster Mane – he’s 1m and with the previously mentioned injuries could sneak into the XI (and we will see the team before the deadline), the kind of bargain you don’t pass up with the budget constrictions this season.

Tom Rothe (7m – 8% Owned)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 7 Top Picks

Leite has been a revelation in this game for Union this season, as a duel monster and even popping up with a goal. But, as a result, Rothe has gone slightly under the radar. Playing wing-back, following fantasy legend Gosens departure, Rothe has made the position his own and will bring duels and attacking potential against a Kiel side who have looked out of sorts since being promoted. Is a Union defence double up on the cards?

Willi Orban (11m – 4% Owned)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 7 Top Picks

Leipzig have been a mixed bag this season and unpredictable. But their defence has largely been solid and Orban has been a big part of this with his duels won. An average of 216 points a match, despite a red card and two game suspension, shows his potential. Against a Mainz team that love to attack directly, I can see that average being hit again.

Midfielders – Kevin Stoger (15m – 13% Owned)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 7 Top Picks

I’ve personally owned Stoger all season. But, at only 13% owned I feel I can still include him here…Averaging 235 points without hitting the heights of the attacking returns we know he is capable of just shows the underlying consistency and potential of Stoger.

Against a Heidenheim team who are likely to try and absorb pressure, I can see Stoger grabbing his first true haul of the season – and if he doesn’t? He’ll hit 200 points anyway, what is there not to like?

Ritsu Doan (10m – 12% Owned)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 7 Top Picks

Another midfielder who maybe needs no introduction to some, but Grifo has stolen the limelight from a fantasy perspective at 12m and 33% owned, yet Doan has been almost as consistent across the season. Against an Augsburg team who are there for the taking, Doan should be near the top of the watchlist in the 10m bracket.

Anton Stach – (10m – 2% Owned)

Stach has had a rough last 3-4 Matchdays, but in MD1 and MD2 he was averaging over 200 points with no attacking returns. A reverse OOP, playing at centre back, it may not scream explosive. But, playing a Bochum team who forget how to play football when they are away from home, I can see him being a solid, if unspectacular, 200 pointer this week at a reasonable price.

Strikers – Serhou Guirassy (19m – 8% Owned)

Five goals over the international break? Dortmund’s new talisman? Sahin already confirmed he starts Friday? Yes, yes and yes. A man in form who has very quickly established himself as the main man at Dortmund.

He is a serious option as an alternative to Kane this week. Or, if Wirtz is confirmed injured then even alongside Kane. Adeyemi is injured and Beier has been released from the U21 with illness. So, I can’t see Guirassy not getting 80+ mins and against a Pauli side who have conceded at relative ease, I would back him to at least grab a goal under the Friday night lights.

Andrej Kramaric (10m – 17% Owned)

Kramaric started the season with a bang, hitting a 449 pointer vs newly promoted Kiel (Who I didn’t own…no hard feelings) but hasn’t really lived up to that in subsequent weeks. I fully expect this to change vs Bochum, who as previously mentioned are not strong away from home whatsoever. A nice price point, on penalties and with a prime fixture, Kramaric feels like a shoe in this week.

Benedict Hollerbach (8m – 2% Owned)

This may be a punt too far. But, when a team is playing Kiel it feels like there are points for the taking. Hollerbach may not have exploded in terms of goals and assists as yet, but with the style Union play he has racked up some of the highest duel points of any striker.

At this price, I feel he has the floor of 100 points but the potential to hit a 300 pointer. So, if looking for that 11th spot around the 6-8m mark, I think Hollerbach is a nice one week option.
