As the Bundesliga season gets into full swing, managers are already making changes and shaping their squads for the next round. Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 5 Team Reveals showcases how different drafts are lining up and which players are proving popular.

In this article, we’ll look at several finalised teams, highlight the standout picks, and share the strategies managers are using for Matchday 5.

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 5 Team Reveals -Final Drafts

Notes

  • After a strange week, where it seemed every midfield option other than Doan delivered horrific scores, I still find myself up from last weeks rank to 712th.
  • This week I’m weighing up a few moves. For the first time this season I’m considering no Guirassy. As much as I want him, I think the spreading of funds is better utilised this week if Uzun can maintain his form.
  • In defence it’s steady players in Chabot and Quansah with Grimaldo and Muheim offering more exciting prospects.
  • Kane, Olise and Grimaldo take the stars, though I’m wondering whether I can get one more Bayern in with Fridays team news…

Notes

  • Formation: 4-4-2.
  • Goalkeepers: Ramaj (7.14 – HEI) & Backhaus (4.94 – SVW). Once again no GK changes, Ramaj and Backhaus aren’t going anywhere.
  • Defenders: Grimaldo* (20.85 – B04), Chabot (9.15 – VFB), Muheim (8.92 – HSV), Bernardo (8.83 – TSG) & Torunarigha (6.88 – HSV). Star captain Grimaldo showed last week that even without an attacking return he can still rack up a good amount of points with his duels won. Chabot and Bernardo are proven duel monsters and have favourable fixtures coming up. Even though Union showed against Frankfurt that they can be dangerous in front of goal, I like Muheim and Torunarigha for build-up and duel points against an inconsistent Union Berlin. Should Torunarigha not be ready for this weekend’s game or should I need to free up some money, Gocholeishvili is another option I’m considering.
  • Midfielders: Olise* (25.89 – FCB), Doan (16.46 – SCF), Vieira (9.28 – HSV), Baumgartner (8.46 – RBL) & Rieder (7.4 – FCA). Olise’s benching against Hoffenheim was a bit unexpected, but now he’s had some rest, he should be good to go for a while. While Doan and Baumgartner didn’t go big last weekend, but I’m happy to keep them with their consistent points floor. I considered buying Vieira for last week’s Heidenheim fixture and regret I didn’t. He looked impressive and his new role in midfield could be good for his points potential, so with a fixture against a shaky Union he is in my team. Playing against a truly awful Heidenheim, having an Augsburg midfielder in Rieder is a must for me this week. The cheaper Kömür is another option I’m considering in alternative transfer plans where I need more money.
  • Forwards: Kane* (26.41 – FCB), Leweling (9.06 – VFB) & Ansah (6.41 – FCU). Kane doesn’t need any further convincing at this point, he will be my star captain this week. While I am very happy with Leweling, it is worth keeping an eye on his expected minutes for this weekend with Stuttgart’s Europa League fixture this week. The final forward spot will very likely be occupied by either Uzun or Ansah. While Uzun could still come in if I feel the need to sell Leweling, the severe lack of budget defenders means I am going with the cheaper Ansah. Although it might be very contradictory with two HSV defenders in my team, I like Ansah’s points potential for this game.

Notes

  • I don’t have enough transfers for the perfect team but we do what we can.
  • Forwards: Kane star is quite obvious. Sinani still offers very nice point base, even in his worst match ever. Burke bagged points last Matchday and has a good fixture, so we obviously kneejerk him in.
  • Midfielders: Olise star is also quite obvious. I don’t have transfers to change the midfield, so suboptimal options like Baumgartner or Kamiński are staying. Rieder is still a good option with a good fixture. Khannouss has a decent schedule and managed points last week.
  • Defence: Grimaldo star is another obvious move. Kubler is okayish and transfers are lacking so he stays. Sano and Vuskovic did great last week, so we kneejerk them in. Muheim is one of few options for the last spot. He is also the cheapest one, so he is in for now.
  • Goalkeepers: Ramaj and Backhaus are in as I don’t have any spare transfers for experiments.
