Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 26 Top Picks

Last modified date

The season of German League football continues! So, we take a look at the Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 26 top picks. Bundesliga Fantasy expert and regular contributor @Big4FPL reveals three of the best defenders, midfielders and forwards for the new round.

The Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 26 top picks can be extremely useful for managers. With lots of changes to the game this season it could be difficult to adjust for managers. But the following top picks can help you bring clarity to some of the decisions you have to make ahead of the deadline.

Last matchday was arguably the most chaotic (and lowest scoring in recent Bundesliga fantasy memory). Bayern lost. Leverkusen lost. Dortmund lost. Frankfurt lost. But these teams losing was the least of our concerns, the rotation they brought around Europe meant a tonne of lost points for fantasy players!

I was lucky to get an XI out, which bumped me up to 13th overall and 19th in the second chance league – but I’m hoping for a much simpler week ahead! With that being said, here are some of my top picks for this week:

Defenders

Leo Østigård – 9m

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 26 Top Picks

I picked Ostigard last week in my picks, and after another solid 175 points, I’m backing him again with his ownership still only at 11%. Since coming to Hoffenheim, Ostigard has been a bit of a dual winning machine – although it is a small sample size with a recent niggle also keeping him out one game.

A Friday night fixture vs Pauli should be another opportunity to not only ensure he starts the game, but delivers a solid start to the week.

Rasmus Kristensen – 10m

Frankfurt defenders have been a bargain all season (Brown, Collins) but this week I fancy one of their premium options to deliver. Kristensen has averaged 164 points for the season and has the upside of being attaching in his role. A match vs Bochum should be a good chance to bounce back from the disappointment of the Union result.

Anthony Caci– 10m

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 26 Top Picks

Last week I backed his cheaper counterpart Sano and he outscored Caci by 20 or so points – this week I’m backing the more attacking of the two vs a Freiburg team who have been inconsistent all season. Capable of big hauls with his attacking output, I like Caci in the mid- price range.

Midfielders

Michael Olise – 16m

Olise has been as productive as Musiala for 4m less than his counterpart. As I type, he is being taken out of the UCL match vs Leverkusen in the 69th minute and with Coman going off with a niggle, I fully expect him to start and perform.

Tom Bischof – 5m

Everyone owns him at this point…but the reason I’m including Bischof is he is quietly becoming one of the most reliable star midfielders. No benching concern, almost guaranteed 200 points and is seemingly adding to his attacking output too – with all the rotation risk he is a great shout to lock in your 50% extra points.

Alexis Claude-Maurice – 6m

Another of the bargain heroes of the season, most players were right to remove him for the Dortmund game, but a match vs Wolfsburg is a good chance to hit one of his hauls. We can’t expect the hattrick he hit a few matchdays ago, every week, but we can certainly hope for 200+ points.

Forwards

Mathias Honsak – 5m

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 26 Top Picks

Honsak has been starting in recent weeks for Heidenheim and although he isn’t anyone you expect to hit a huge haul, a match vs Kiel at least provides a possibility of a return or two. With players trying to bring in the likes of Olise into their team, Honsak could be a good budget replacement in the front line.

Tim Kleindienst– 12m

Big Tim has been a consistent performer this season, not least due to his knack for winning aerial duals, just as he did at Heidenheim last season. A match vs one of the worse teams in the league on current form gives him a chance to hit another solid return.

Patrik Schick – 14m

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 26 Top Picks

With Wirtz out injured, there should be little doubt that Schick gets the nod upfront and despite plenty of bench appearances he still averages 144 points a match. Although Stuttgart on paper is a tough match, they have not hit the heights of last season and I can see goals in this game.
