Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 24 expert picks and team

Last modified date

With a new round ahead, we look at the latest edition of Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 24 expert picks and team. @FPLGunnersaurus (Jay) joins us to give his top picks for the Matchday ahead. In addition, he also shares his squad going into the new round with his general thoughts.

Twitter is full of the most experienced fantasy football players around. Those managers can be some of the best people to look to when trying to gain clarity when making their own decisions within their teams. Checking out the Matchday 24 expert picks and team can help for the round ahead.

Top picks – Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (FOR – 6.1m – 23% owned – FC Bayern München)

It continues to baffle Bundelsliga Fantasy content creators that Choupo-Moting still sits at under 25% ownership. Considering he has no real challenger for his central forward role and considering he plays for a team that scores goals for fun. Now on ten league goals for the season after scoring again in Bayern’s 2-1 away win over Stuttgart, Choupo and Bayern host fellow Bavarians Augsburg at home Saturday afternoon.

Those who read this article last week may recall that Augsburg boast the worst xGA in the league at 1.99xGA, rising to 2.20xGA away from home as they are this weekend. If you can afford a Bayern frontline double-up it would be worthwhile this matchday, however after UCL action there is likely to be some rotation so keep an eye on those predicted line-ups. Choupo was subbed, after putting his side 1-0 up, in the 68th minute which bodes well for him to keep his starting berth up front for the Bavarian giants against the Bavarian minnows on Matchday 24.

Florian Kainz (MID – 9.5m ON SALE – 15% owned – 1. FC Köln)

Owning an on sale Florian Kainz in a home tie against a Bochum side who have lost 11 in 12 on the road this season is just too good an opportunity to pass up, despite the Billygoats own shaky form. Kainz started the season in imperial form returning double-digit fantasy hauls in half of Köln’s first eight games. Since then, and much like the club themselves, form has faded but that said he still leads the way for Köln goal contributions with five goals and six assists.

At the same price one could go for teammate Ellyes Skhiri (9.5m – 3% owned) who has scored all five of his goals since the winter break, should you be looking for a differential asset. One Köln attacker is probably enough in the Friday night standalone match and an on sale Kainz is certainly the most tantalising option.

Christian Günter (DEF – 14.1m – 18% owned – Sport-Club Freiburg)

It would fair to say that Günter hasn’t replicated his form from last season. However he still remains a fantastic fantasy asset sitting sixth in the fantasy scoring charts for defenders. With three assists this season half of Günter’s points have come from goal attempt (32 points) and passes to a shot (54 points), which just goes to show how involved he is in Freiburg’s attack.

They may be tired from UEL action away to Juventus tonight but Freiburg players are still worth bringing in, especially as they face Hoffenheim who are still without a win since 14th October and are one of the league’s worst form teams. On paper, Champions League chasing Freiburg should steamroll relegation threated Hoffenheim and players like Günter will be heavily owned so don’t fall behind and bring him in. Taking into account all of the factors above, he makes his way into my Matchday 24 expert picks.

Mark Flekken (GK – 10.4m ON SALE – 10% owned – Sport-Club Freiburg)

Another suggested transfer in from the Breisgau-Brasilianer would be their Dutch goalkeeper Mark Flekken. He faces Hoffenheim in a home tie and is on sale – what’s not to like there? Freiburg travel to Mainz for an away tie in the last fixture before the next unlimited transfers window which isn’t a terrible tie either, so if you’ve got a goalkeeper shaped hole in your squad this matchday Flekken can fill it.

With ten clean sheets already Flekken has good odds to pick up another one against Die Kraichgauer in the first Sunday afternoon kick-off. Mainz have been in decent attacking form lately so if you bring him in and keep him for Matchday 25 you can feel relatively assured he’ll pick up a big batch of save points then too.
