Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 20 Top Picks

Last modified date

The new season of German League football continues! So, we take a look at the Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 20 top picks. Bundesliga Fantasy expert and regular contributor @FPLGunnersaurus reveals three of the best defenders, midfielders and forwards for the new round.

The Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 20 top picks can be extremely useful for managers. With lots of changes to the game this season it could be difficult to adjust for managers. But the following top picks can help you bring clarity to some of the decisions you have to make ahead of the deadline.

Note: This has been written prior to European action being completed and therefore doesn’t account for any injuries that may occur.

Defenders – Premium – David Raum (15m / 1% TSB / RBL)

Raum returned from injury at the start of the year and is back to putting in performances that merit his 15m price tag. In the last two games he has a goal and two assists to his name, which has resulted in a total of 662pts in Bundesliga Fantasy across those games. Die Roten Bullen travel to Union Berlin who have one win in their last 12 league games.

Mid-price – Willi Orbán (11m / 25% / RBL)

If you want a Leipzig defender but don’t fancy paying a premium then go for their club captain instead. At 11m the Hungarian international represents great value at an average of 217pts per match and is certainly an attacking threat too, having netted five times this season. Opponents Union Berlin don’t tend to score too many at home (or at all), so don’t expect to see many points, if any, knocked off of Orbán’s total either.

Budget – Chrislain Matsima (6m / 1% TSB / FCA)

A new budget defensive option has emerged lately in Augsburg’s Matsima. The Frenchman averages 224pts over his last four matches and whilst that figure may be slightly skewed by his goal scored on MD19 against Heidenheim, he still returns plenty of points for won duels. A tough game away to St. Pauli on MD20 presents an opportunity to score well again for the centre-back.

Midfielders – Premium – Michael Olise (16m / 33% TSB / FCB)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 20 Top Picks

Going by the laws of probability the French international winger should be back in Bayern’s starting XI on Saturday and it could be a field day for him and Bayern’s other attacking assets. Bayern host Holstein Kiel who have conceded a whopping and league worst 48 goals this season. Let’s face it – Bayern are going to thump the away team here.

Mid-price – Romano Schmid (10m / 11% TSB / SVW)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 20 Top Picks

Despite results not going the way of Die Werderaner lately, their Austrian international midfielder has been returning well in Bundesliga Fantasy. In his last five games he has returned above 200pts each time and he only has two assists during that time, evidencing how well he scores by other means. Bremen host Mainz who have lost three of their last four away ties.

Budget – Paul Nebel (6m / 13% TSB / M05)

On the other hand a member of the opposing side’s midfield could be a good option given the number of goals Bremen are conceding as of late. At 6m, Nebel is a snip and may well add to his five goals and two assists for the season so far. He’s due a big score after having three big hauls of 300pts+ between matchdays 11-15.

Forwards – Premium – Harry Kane (20m / 50% TSB / FCB)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 20 Top Picks

If you don’t own Harry Kane and don’t star him when Bayern host Kiel on MD20 then what are you doing? Admittedly his returns going as far back as MD12 have been disappointing but you only have look at his two returns of 500pts+ to know what he can do in a game Bayern heavily win, which everyone expects them to do this matchday.

Mid-price- Hugo Ekitiké (12m / 35% TSB / SGE)

With Marmoush having made the move to the Premier League, Ekitiké stepped up on MD19 and scored twice despite a disappointing away draw at Hoffenheim. Potentially his returns may be diminished when new signing Wahi joins him in the starting XI but a home fixture on MD20 against Wolfsburg gives him another chance to prove himself as Die Adler’s new main man.

Mid-price – Morgan Guilavogui (6m / 1% TSB / STP)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 20 Top Picks

If you’re looking for a cheap enabler up front who’s in form and with a good fixture then Die Freibeuter der Liga’s striker could be your man. The Guinea international scored a brace in St.. Pauli’s 3-0 home win over Die Eisernen on MD19, making that three goals and an assist in his last two games. St. Pauli will be looking for back to back wins when they host Augsburg on MD20.
