Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 19 Top Picks

Last modified date

The new season of German League football continues! So, we take a look at the Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 19 top picks. Bundesliga Fantasy expert and regular contributor @FPLGunnersaurus reveals three of the best defenders, midfielders and forwards for the new round.

The Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 19 top picks can be extremely useful for managers. With lots of changes to the game this season it could be difficult to adjust for managers. But the following top picks can help you bring clarity to some of the decisions you have to make ahead of the deadline.

Note: This has been written prior to European action being completed and therefore doesn’t account for any injuries that may occur.

Defenders – Premium – Maximilian Mittelstädt – (17m / 8% TSB / VFB)

After missing the last two fixtures Maxi was back in UCL action on Tuesday, so he should make a return to the starting XI in the league. He’s the sixth highest scoring defender in the game and the fixture on MD19 favours Die Roten. You have to go back to January 2019 for the last time opponents Mainz got the better of them in the league.

Mid-price – Joakim Maehle (10m / 0% / WOB)

After a difficult first season in the Bundesliga, Euro fantasy favourite Maehle is having a much better second season. The Dane has three goals and three assists so far and his side host Holstein Kiel on MD19. With an ownership of 0% he could be the ultimate differential if you’re looking for something a little bit different to climb the ranks.

Budget – Nathaniel Brown (5m / 47% TSB / SGE)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 19 Top Picks

I still can’t look past Frankfurt’s Brown as the best budget defender in the game, considering he plays out of position as a left sided midfielder. Even without Marmoush, Die Adler comfortably beat Dortmund on MD18 and Brown returned 290pts for his fantasy owners. Frankfurt travel to a Hoffenheim side who have lost their last two home fixtures.

Midfielders – Premium – Jamal Musiala (20m / 22% TSB / FCB)

With back-to-back benchings following a bout with illness, Musiala surely starts away to Freiburg on MD19. Bayern attackers will soon become hot property with back-to-back home games against Kiel and Bremen in the following weeks. Bambi will be looking to build back up his form in a crucial period for Bayern, looking to increase their lead at the top before a trip to Leverkusen on MD22.

Mid-price – Jamie Gittens (10m / 24% TSB / BVB)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 19 Top Picks

Die Schwarzgelben host a Bremen side who have conceded seven goals across the last three games. You’ll want a piece of the Dortmund attack on MD19 and valued at 10m there’s no better option than Englishman Gittens who has seven Bundesliga goals to his name so far this campaign. Dortmund also enter a sweet spot of a fixture run, now but more on that in a later pick.

Budget – Alexis Claude-Maurice (6m / 11% TSB / FCA)

Die Fuggerstädter have won back-to-back games 2-0. They will be looking to make it three victories on the bounce in a very winnable game at home against Heidenheim. Claude-Maurice is currently Augsburg’s top scorer with six goals. Opponents Heidenheim have lost four of their last five away games.

Forwards – Premium – Serhou Guirassy (19m / 3% TSB / BVB)

If you have cash to splash then the Guinean goal machine could be an option for the foreseeable future up top. After the Bremen game the Black and Yellow only face teams currently ranked 12th or lower up until the middle of March, with the exception of Stuttgart on MD21. If there was a time for Guirassy to rediscover his goal scoring touch it’s now.

Mid-price – Tim Kleindienst (12m / 14% TSB / BMG)

Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 19 Top Picks

Last season The Foals thrashed MD19 opponents Bochum 5-2 at home and will look at this match as one to turn their troubles around having lost their last three. Marksman Kleindienst scored his first goal since MD14 in their weekend defeat to champions Leverkusen and will hope he can add more to his 10 goal tally against the bottom placed side.

Budget – Mohamed Amoura (10m / 4% TSB / WOB)

Amoura is expensive for a budget forward but one with plenty of potential. Die Wölfe host Kiel on MD19 who have conceded a league worst 46 goals. The on-loan Algerian international striker has six goals and one assist in his last seven games, including a brace last week away at Bayern in a 3-2 loss.
