Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 14 Top Picks
The new season of German League football continues! So, we take a look at the Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 14 top picks. Bundesliga Fantasy expert and regular contributor @Big4FPL reveals three of the best defenders, midfielders and forwards for the new round.
The Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 14 top picks can be extremely useful for managers. With lots of changes to the game this season it could be difficult to adjust for managers. But the following top picks can help you bring clarity to some of the decisions you have to make ahead of the deadline.
Note: This was written midway through European action this week and doesn’t account for any injuries that may occur during those games.
Defenders – Premium – Dayot Upamecano (12m / 40% TSB / FCB)
With a 40% ownership and rising Bayern’s centre-back is now this season’s top scoring fantasy defender. Upamecano hauled 512pts on MD13 and it’s his ability to score big for build-up play and duels which is contributing to these big weekly scores.
The Frenchman’s weekly base score is about 200pts+ and as we’ve seen his ceiling can be sky high. Ahead of Mainz away on MD14 and Leipzig at home on MD15 I now consider him essential.
Mid-price – Ramy Bensebaini (11m / 1% / BVB)
At 1m cheaper than Upamecano is another player I would love to own this matchday in Dortmund’s Algerian wingback wizard Bensebaini. We’ve seen Bensebaini hit a couple of 350pts+ returns lately in home games where he’s either scored or assisted. Being on home turf again against Hoffenheim on MD14 certainly makes him an attractive proposition.
Budget – Tom Rothe (7m / 14% TSB / FCU)
After a few games out of Bo Svensson’s side young left-back Rothe is firmly back in the first team fold having started the last two games. At 7m and with the ability to score and assist as already demonstrated this season one couldn’t ask for a better budget defender. This is especially considering Die Eisernen host bottom side Bochum, who have lost all seven of their away league games.
Midfielders – Premium – Jamal Musiala (20m / 45% TSB / FCB)
Musiala was ‘rested’ on MD13 having only featured as a second half substitution. Despite that he scored twice and returned 308pts. This was more than fellow 20m midfielder Wirtz who scored less in double the amount of gametime.
Bambi is a literal game changer and both he and Wirtz should be staples of your team. Having been benched last time out I expect Musiala to start and currently my star in the midfield is on him.
Mid-price – Jamie Gittens (10m / 12% TSB / BVB)
At 10m and with a home again against Hoffenheim the Englishman is an absolute steal this matchday. Gittens is averaging 253.33pts per game across his last six matches which has seen him score three and assist once.
Die Schwarzgelben haven’t lost at home and opponents Hoffenheim haven’t won away from home. Gittens is an easy transfer in for MD14.
Budget – Paul Nebel (6m / 5% TSB / M05)
The German U21 international is having a breakout season at the 05ers this campaign. Across his last four games Nebel has three goals and one assist and has also scored 200+ fantasy points in each of those games.
The Karnevalsverein may be hosting Bayern on MD14 but this is a Bayern side without Neuer in goal until the end of the year and who conceded twice to Heidenheim last weekend.
Forwards – Premium – Serhou Guirassy (19m / 5% TSB / BVB)
In having one of the best fixtures this matchday it’s no surprise to see a third Dortmund pick to target, if you can afford him. The Guinean goal machine hasn’t been at his prolific 2023-2024 season standards but still has six league goals to his name. Dortmund go goal crazy at home having scored a league high 19 goals at the Signal Iduna Park. Expect them and Guirassy to put a few more past Hoffenheim.
Mid-price – Tim Kleindienst (12m / 27% TSB / BMG)
Affectionately now dubbed ‘small service’ the German international forward comes in to my team for good reason ahead of a home game against Holstein Kiel. The Foals are in fantastic form at home, unbeaten in five and winning four of those. In those games Kleindienst has three goals and three assists and now comes up against a Kiel team who have lost their last four league games.
Budget – Tiago Tomás (7m / 2% TSB / WOB)
I struggled to pick a budget forward this week but I’ve landed on Wolfsburg’s Portuguese forward Tiago Tomás. Tomás, despite his fantasy returns not necessarily reflecting it, is in great form having scored in three of his last four games.
The Wolves are in wonderful form with Hasenhüttl’s side having won four on the spin. They travel to an indifferent Freiburg team whose early season form appears to have waned.
