Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 13 Top Picks

Last modified date

The new season of German League football continues! So, we take a look at the Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 13 top picks. Bundesliga Fantasy expert and regular contributor @Big4FPL reveals three of the best defenders, midfielders and forwards for the new round.

The Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 13 top picks can be extremely useful for managers. With lots of changes to the game this season it could be difficult to adjust for managers. But the following top picks can help you bring clarity to some of the decisions you have to make ahead of the deadline.

Defenders – Willi Orbán (11m – 31%)

Willi has quietly gone about being one of the most consistent defenders in the game, whilst also offering set piece threat. Despite Leipzig’ indifferent form, their defence has largely been solid and it’s the attack not firing on all cylinders. With a match against Kiel I expect some long balls which means plenty of duals won.

Mitchell Weiser (13m – 4%)

At multiple points this season Weiser has been 15/20%+ ownership, but a red card and suspension means he’s dipped back under the radar. As such, Weiser has a great fixture to pick up his previous season form and deliver us some attacking returns combined with duals.

Ramy Bensebaini (11m – 0%)

Despite being an outcast last season, Bensebaini has gone on to become one of Dortmund’ most important players this season – at both ends of the pitch. Unlike other full-backs, Bensebaini brings aerial threat, as well as crosses which really gives him multiple routes to points.

Midfielders – Paul Nebel (6m – 3%)

A 3% owned starter for Mainz with prime fixtures? Nebel has established himself in the Mainz team and as such is a great alternative to Amiri if you’re trying to save money for more premium options.

Claude Maurice (6m – 10%)

Despite playing out of position as a striker and at only 6m, “ACM” as the Bundesliga Fantasy has started referring to him as, is still only in 10% of teams. He also seems to have a knack for winning duals, which means you’re not just reliant on his goalscoring.

Vincenzo Grifo (12m – 40%)

Grifo has been locked in a lot of people’s teams for a while – but I’ve personally stayed away from him the last few weeks with Freiburg’ rough form/fixtures. Saying this, it looks like the fixtures look a bit brighter this week and as such I’m keen on getting the Italian talisman back in.

Strikers – Benjamin Šeško (14m – 2%)

Maybe a bit of a punt, but there’s no denying Sesko has talent and this is a fixture he could thrive in. There’s always a bit of a rotation risk, but I see no reason why he won’t play this week and at 2% ownership, he is the type of player who could throw you up the ranks.

Phil Harres (3m – 4%)

Cheapest starting striker in the game, need I say more? Still only 4% owned, similar to Bischoff in my previous articles, I’m going to keep saying his name until he’s in more teams. Why have a 1m bench dud when you can have the chance of 3m Harres jumping into your team when Kane/Marmoush decide to have a quiet game?

Serhou Guirassy (19m – 4%)

Guirassy has quickly become Dortmund’ main man after being the same for Stuttgart last season. Although he relies predominantly on goals to get his hauls, I would never back against him to have a chance of a brace in a good fixture. See recent form in the UCL where he even bagged coming off the bench, and benching shouldn’t be anywhere near a risk anymore with his recovery from illness.
