Brazil have announced their World Cup squad for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. We detail who made the squad and who didn’t. As well as what this might mean for FPL and the unlimited transfer window.

The biggest shock of the Brazil World Cup squad was the admission of Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino. Firmino is Liverpool’s second highest scoring Liverpool asset this season with 63 FPL points, only Mo Salah has more.

Brazil Squad

Defenders: Dani Alves (Pumas UNAM), Danilo (Juventus), Alex Sandro (Juventus), Alex Telles (Sevilla), Bremer (Juventus), Eder Militao (Real Madrid), Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain), Thiago Silva (Chelsea)

Midfielders: Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle), Casemiro (Manchester United), Everton Ribeiro (Flamengo), Fabinho (Liverpool), Fred (Manchester United), Lucas Paqueta (West Ham)

Attackers: Antony (Manchester United), Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal), Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain), Pedro (Flamengo), Raphinha (Barcelona), Richarlison (Tottenham), Rodrygo (Real Madrid), Vinicius Jr (Real Madrid)

What does this mean for FPL?

There are a number of key FPL assets in the World Cup squad for Brazil. Should the Brazil team make it a long way in the competition then their reliability of starts returning from the World Cup could be in doubt. Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli both received call ups. As did FPL premium goalkeepers Alisson and Ederson.

Spurs’ Richarlison has been called up despite missing the last few games for his club with an injury.

Other interesting FPL assets such as Bruno Guimaraes, Antony and Lucas Paqueta have also been called up for the Brazil World Cup squad.
