Bournemouth Top Picks for FPL 2024/25

Last modified date

Fantasy Premier League has launched for another season. For that reason we continue to cover each team in the build up to the start of the new campaign. In this article we take a look at the Bournemouth top picks for FPL 2024/25.

Picking out the Bournemouth top picks for FPL 2024/25 could be really helpful for managers. The Cherries could be one of several teams with the potential to offer some great value for money assets this season, so let’s see what we can find.

Whist many football fans expected Bournemouth to be in a relegation battle last season new manager Andoni Iraola had other ideas. The Cherries finished their 23/24 campaign a huge 22 points of the drop zone in 12th place.

24/25 Starting Fixtures

Below we can see the Fantasy Football Scout Fixture Ticker. We can also see that they rank 11th best on the ticker. They face fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Newcastle, Everton, Chelsea, Liverpool then Southampton.

Bournemouth Defence

It was a mixed season for the Bournemouth defence last campaign. In fact when compared to every other side in 23/24 they ranked:

  • 8th – Clean sheets kept
  • 15th – Goals conceded
  • 9th – Expected goals conceded
  • 12th – Total shots in the box conceded
  • 10th – Total attempts on goal conceded
  • 13th- Total shots on target conceded
  • 9th – Total big chances conceded

Comparing the Bournemouth Defensive Players

Comparing all of the Bournemouth defensive assets is crucial in picking out the best options. With that in mind we take a look at their minutes and attacking threat.

When comparing minutes played amongst the backline we can see that Illia Zabarnyi (£4.5m) ranks first with 3330 minutes played. Considerably lower but sitting in second is goalkeeper Neto (£4.5m) who started five less matches than the Ukrainian.

Marcos Senesi (£5m) also makes his way into the top three for gametime with 2259 minutes played.

Attacking potential is also a key consideration when picking out a defensive asset.

There seems to be a clear winner when it comes to goals and assists. Although playing less minutes than Zabarniyi Senesi managed an impressive nine attacking returns last season with four goals and five assists.

Conclusion

The best Bournemouth defensive pick based on the above could well be Marcos Senesi. Although £5m Senesi has shown constant attacking threat, both in his previous season and pre-season (scoring in a friendly).

For those put off by Senesi’s price could simply opt for Illia Zabarnyi or Neto between the sticks, both offer reliability in terms of gametime.

Bournemouth Attack

As you can see one player stands out above the rest in terms of gametime. Striker Dominic Solanke (£7.5m) started a huge 37 matches for his side which resulted in 3324 minutes played.

The only other attacker to get close to the 3000 minute mark was Ryan Christie (£5m) who played 2911 minutes last season.

The likes of midfielders Marcus Tavernier (£5.5m) and Antoine Semenyo (£5.5m) managed around 2100 minutes. What is worth highlighting though is that Semenyo racked up his gametime since joining in January (halfway through the season).

It isn’t difficult to distinguish between them for attacking threat. Once again Solanke reigns superior after racking up a huge 19 goals and three assists in 23/24.

Antoine Semenyo may have only joined in January but he also stood out after hitting 12 goal contributions in his 25 starts.

Conclusion

Taking into account both minutes and attacking threat it’s Dominic Solanke who remains the best option in the Bournemouth frontline.

Antoine Semenyo could be a very good option at his price for those looking at a midfielder option.

Bournemouth Top Picks

After comparing all players for both minutes and attacking potential the Bournemouth Top Picks for FPL 2024/25 are:

  • Dominic Solanke
  • Antoine Semenyo
  • Marcos Senesi
  • Illia Zabarnyi
  • Neto
