Best Wildcard Team for UCL Fantasy Matchday 17

This week is your final opportunity to play a chip. But, if you’re not sure how your squad should look, then you’re in the right place. Here we build the best wildcard team for UCL Fantasy Matchday 17.

Knowing who to pick on your wildcard may be crucial to navigating the final round, so let’s take a look.

Best Wildcard Team

In goal we could look to Gianluigi Donnarumma. PSG play with a back four compared to Inter’ back-five, so the Italian is essential if backing a full PSG defensive stack.

The only other goalkeeper who will start is Inter’ Yann Sommer. Sommer will remain on the bench unless we decide to back a full Inter defence.

With the aim to back a full PSG defence, all four of Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, Willian Pacho and Marquinhos make the cut. Both Hakimi and Mendes offer attacking potential whilst Pacho and Marquinhos offer ball recovery potential.

PSG play with a back-four so starting Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries is an easy decision. Dumfries recently hit two goals and three assists past Barcelona which shows how attacking he can be.

In midfield, it makes sense to back both Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Both have been extremely convincing overall this season. We could also look to penalty taker Vitinha just in case he has a successful game.

Our fourth starting midfielder is Inter’ Hakan Calhanoglu. The Turkish international is on penalties for his side and has impressed as of late. On the bench is teammate Nicolo Barella, who could be a great differential if looking to boost rank.

With a limit on how many PSG players we can pick, Inter forwards is the only path. Marcus Thuram is his sides fittest striker and likely to play the most minutes. Because of that he will start for us. Joining him but on the bench is Mehdi Taremi and Lautaro Martinez.

Starting XI: Donnarumma, Hakimi, Mendes, Pacho, Marquinhos, Dumfries, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia, Vitinha, Calhanoglu, Thuram.
