Best Replacements for Erling Haaland in UCL Fantasy

The international break is here and so it could be a great time to focus on certain topics. With that in mind and looking to the new round of UCL Fantasy, we take a look at the best replacements for Erling Haaland.

Erling Haaland has become one of the most feared assets in UCL Fantasy. Many within the community will remember the Norwegian’s mammoth double-digit haul against Leipzig in which he scored five goals, and many are still fearful of something similar happening again. However, four losses on the bounce and poor recent performances from Haaland is giving managers enough reason to sell. So, lets take a look at the best replacements.

Harry Kane

Best replacements for Haaland

Trading one premium for another could be quite an easy switch for UCL Fantasy managers. Bayern’s Harry Kane (€10.7m) comes in cheaper than Haaland, but has nearly doubled the amount of points the Norwegian has returned so far.

Most of Kane’s 34 points come from and impressive five goals, one assist and one player of the match award. Seven goals and three assists in his last 10 matches in all competitions reflects excellent form, and he takes that form into matches against PSG, Shakhtar, Feyenoord and Slovan Bratislava.

Serhou Guirassy

Best replacements for Haaland

Pumping money elsewhere could be something UCL Fantasy managers are aiming to do. In that case Serhou Guirassy (€7.8m) could be an ideal candidate. The Guinea international seems to be in great form – hitting eight goals and two assists in his last 10 matches in all competitions.

Domestic form appears to be an issue for Dortmund, but they continue to impress in the Champions League – winning three of their four matches. The German side notched up a huge 13 goals in that same period, so with fixtures against GNK Dinamo, Bologna and Shakhtar in the next four Matchdays, Guirassy may continue to benefit from his sides scoring form.

Deniz Undav

Best replacements for Haaland

Stuttgart have had a rough start to their Champions League campaign. The German side have already met with the likes of Atalanta, Juventus and Real Madrid in their first four games. But, their schedule eases considerably ahead.

Crvena Zvezda, Young Boys and Slovan Bratislava lay ahead next for the Stuttgart frontline, a frontline which has averaged an impressed 1.9 goals scored per match in the Bundesliga this season. Their best goal threat is Deniz Undav (€7m), who as well coming in nice and cheap, has also managed seven goals in all competitions this season.

Robert Lewandowski

Another premium option Haaland owners should consider is Robert Lewandowski (€9.5m). Barcelona have been in fantastic scoring form both domestically and in Europe – averaging around a huge three goals scored per match.

Barcelona have several different good attacking options but the best of them could be Lewandowski. The Polish international has racked up a massive 19 goals and two assists already this season, showing just how exceptional he has been. Brest lay ahead next up, then Dortmund, followed by Benfica and Atalanta, four great opportunities for him to continue his form.

Alternative Options

Lille's Johnathan David scores in the Champions League

Milan’s positive run of fixtures start with matches against Slovan Bratislava and Crvena Zvezda, two of the worst sides in the Champions League for goals conceded. Coming off the back of two assists against Real Madrid, Rafael Leao (€9m) could offer potential in an effective Milan frontline.

Sparta Praha and Slovan Bratislava could be two good opportunities for Atleti to start converting their impressive expected goals data into actual goals. Former Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez (€8m) could add to the one Champions League goal he already has.

Lille have rode their luck at times but meetings with Bologna and Shakhtar could be matches in which they show their true attacking qualities. Continuing his form of five goals in his last five matches is likely going to be penalty taker Johnathan David (€7.1m).
