Best projected points for Gameweek 5

The new round of fantasy football is approaching so we take a look at the FPL players with the best projected points for Gameweek 5. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can pick out assets with the most potential for the fixtures ahead.

As we approach the new round fantasy managers are looking for the best players to include in their squads. Because of this looking at the projected points for Gameweek 5 can help bring clarity to some of your decisions.

Projected points for Gameweek 5

  • Erling Haaland – The Manchester City striker and penalty taker is set to hit the highest amount of points in Gameweek 5 with 7.2. This comes one week after securing a mammoth 20 points against Fulham for his three goals, assist and bonus points.
  • Son Heung-min – Tottenham have been in fantastic attacking form in the early stages of the new campaign and two of their players look like they could be in for a big week. Son ranks second this week with 5.8 points. Similar to Haaland Son also managed a whopping 20 points last week.
  • James Maddison – Maddison is not far behind his teammate in terms of projected points this week. He looks set to hit 5.6 points which would make it his fourth return in five matches if so.
  • Mohamed Salah – The Egyptian ranks fourth this week for points (5.5). He comes up against a Wolves side who are averaging two goals conceded per game so far this season. Salah’ output has been questioned heavily due to his price-tag.
  • Raheem Sterling – Chelsea come up against Bournemouth in Gameweek 5 who will be looking for a win after their loss against Nottingham Forest last time out. One player who has the quality to make that happen is Sterling who looks set for 5.3 points this week.

Who else looks set to return?

  • Kieran Trippier – The Newcastle defence has been disappointing in general even with tough fixtures. Even with his elite distribution stats Trippier has still failed to return in any of his first four matches. That could be about to change as he comes up against Brentford next and is set to hit 5.2 points.
  • Phil Foden – Manchester City look set for a big week in terms of returns as Foden ranks seventh for points with 5.1. The midfielder has picked up a return in three of his first four matches even with a injury scare inbetween.
  • Taiwo Awoniyi – Nottingham Forest have faced some tough opponents early on but Awoniyi has been relentless with his returns – he managed to collect points in each and every match so far. Awoniyi ranks eighth for points this week with five.
  • Moussa Diaby – Aston Villa have been in mixed form beating both Burnley and Everton but losing to Liverpool and Newcastle. They could have a tough round against Crystal Palace next. Diaby is ninth on the projected points list with 4.9.
  • Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United will be hoping to bounce back after their 3-1 loss to Arsenal before the break. That could be difficult as they come up against Brighton. Fantasy Football Scout predicts that Fernandes will hit 4.8 points this week.
