Best players against their Gameweek 24 opposition

We take a look at some of the best players against their Gameweek 24 opposition. Using previous head-to-head records and underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout members area to help us pick out some great FPL picks for the round ahead.

Picking out the best players against their Gameweek 24 opposition could be helpful in making both transfer and captaincy decisions. The more information FPL managers have the better our decisions tend to be in terms of having successful assets in our fantasy teams.

Kai Havertz v Southampton

Southampton have been in torrid form this season. The Saints sit rock bottom in the Premier League table. Not only have they failed to keep a clean in their last six matches but they have also conceded two or more goals in half of the same games.

Chelsea look like their improving and one player who has suffered the highs and lows is Kai Havertz (£7.7m). The German striker has picked up just five returns all season but in the two matches he played against Southampton prior to this season he returned in both.

Bruno Fernandes v Leicester

Manchester United have become one of the most exciting attacks to watch this season. Their offensive stats are improving whilst their opponents Leicester continue to leak goals. In fact the foxes have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last six matches.

Since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes (£9.9m) has become a much better FPL asset. In his last six matches the midfielder has picked up four returns. His record against Leicester prior to this season has been impressive. Fernandes hit four returns in his five matches against them including two double-digit hauls.

Marcus Rashford v Leicester

Staying with Leicester’s fragile backline and Manchester United’s potent attack we look to Marcus Rashford (£7.3). The midfielder has been in immense form over the last few months. In his last six matches he picked up five returns.

Rashford’s record against Leicester is very strong prior to this season. In the 13 matches he’s faced against his Gameweek 24 opponent’s he bagged returns in six of them. Those returns consist of six goals but no double-digit returns.

Kevin De Bruyne v Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest’s increasingly progressive defensive stats might not be enough to stop a Manchester City side sustaining some of the best offensive data in the league. One player who could have a big Gameweek 24 in FPL is Kevin De Bruyne (£12.4m).

The Belgian midfielder had an excellent start to the season. However in his last six Premier League he returned in just two of them. De Bruyne has an incredible record against newly promoted teams. In fact, in the 16 matches he has played against them prior to this season he has returned in a whopping 12 of them. His points consist of six goals and 11 assists.

Riyad Mahrez

Doubling up with a Manchester attack again we stay with Manchester City for their game against Nottingham Forest. Riyad Mahrez (£7.8m) looks more and more reliable in terms of minutes as the Gameweeks progress.

In his last six matches the Algerian midfielder has collected four returns, including two double-digit hauls. Mahrez has a great record against promoted teams. As we can see in the graphic below prior to this season he managed to secure returns in seven of his 12 matches against them.
