Sky Fantasy is now open and players can build their teams ready for the new season. To build your own team and sign up click here. Managers will be looking to plan early as the game has made a couple of changes, those being extra transfers whilst taking away an overhaul and removing the man of the match feature.

Salah-Liverpool

If there is one player to go without Salah is not that man. The Egyptian managed to score more points than any other player in the game last season with 301. Although the Liverpool heavy weight has lost the right to take man of the match points away Salah consistently hit shots tier two whilst netting 23 goals and coming up with 13 assists.

If that wasn’t enough Salah also took a position change from a forward to a midfielder. This means that every time the Liverpool man scores he gets an additional point, which when captained doubles which softens the blow of losing man of the match.

Captaincy and fixtures also play a huge role with the midfielder being the standout captaincy option for five key dates in the first month on the 6th, 15th, 22nd, 27th and 31st. Combine that with the fact at the time of writing his ownership is 49% and he has to be considered a top pick.

Cancelo-Man City

A total of eight players in the defender bracket hit 200 points or more last season more than any other position. This shows that there could be true value in going big at the back for in the new campaign. One of those players was Cancelo of Man City.

Cancelo hit a total of 194 points season, more than any other defender. A consistent tiers hitter on passing and on tackling and shooting on occasions meant that Cancelo was raking the points in. Not forgetting the one goal, seven assists and 19 clean sheets to go with all of that.

Son- Tottenham

Son took the Premier League by storm last season and even equalled Salah’s goal tally to share the golden boot. The Tottenham attacker also took a position change from forward to midfielder similar to Salah. This only increases his stock going into the new season.

With a total of 266 points last season Son became the third highest points returner in Sky Fantasy. With four great captaincy options in the first five game weeks he could be a fantastic pick to start the season with.

Virgil Van Dijk-Liverpool

The Liverpool centre back was a regular achiever of passing tier two last season which helped him in this journey to becoming the third highest scoring defender in the game. 21 clean sheets, three goals and one assist contributed to Van Dijk hitting an incredible 253 points last season.

The fixtures are great for the reds. They play Fulham, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Newcastle in the first four game weeks. This indicates great opportunities for both clean sheets and passing tiers. A great reliable option with low risk of rotation.

Gabriel Jesus-Arsenal

New Arsenal signing and Brazilian forward will likely be hot property in most fantasy games. In Sky Fantasy managers get the opportunity to captain an Arsenal player on the opening night and first match of the season.

At the time of writing Jesus is owned by 42% of players in Sky Fantasy and going against that ownership could spell disaster early doors. Not only is the Brazilian likely to be the focal point of the Arsenal attack he could also take the penalties.

Haaland-Man City

Arguably one of the best strikers in the world and now playing for the best team in England. Haaland has the potential to take penalties away from Mahrez and become the main outlet in the best attack in the Premier League.

If that wasn’t enough the new Manchester City signing has great fixtures ahead and predicted by many to become the best captaincy option on the 7th,13th, and 21st of August early on.
