Best Picks for the Fantasy EFL Play-Off Final

The regular season has come to an end, but a new separate game based on the play-offs is here! For those unsure on who to pick, then you’re in the right place. Our expert @FPLEdgeworth reveals best picks for the Fantasy EFL play-off final right here!

With scores reset and new prizes in play, Fantasy EFL managers have got another chance at success. Without any more fluff, let’s dive straight into it.

Goalkeepers

Michael Cooper – Sheffield United

Best Picks for the Fantasy EFL Play-Off Final

Cooper has kept two clean sheets during the playoffs and faces a Sunderland side that finished 14 points ahead of them in the league. However, Sheffield United also kept a clean sheet against Sunderland in the regular season, suggesting another shutout could be on the cards in the final.

Owen Goodman – AFC Wimbledon

Goodman has also recorded two clean sheets so far and faces Walsall, a side that finished above Wimbledon. Still, Wimbledon kept the most clean sheets in the league and conceded 10 fewer goals than any other team. With a larger fan base expected at Wembley, they may benefit from a de facto home advantage.

Defenders

Lloyd Jones – Charlton Athletic

Jones has been one of the standout defenders in the playoffs, keeping two clean sheets and racking up 27 points. Facing Leyton Orient, who Charlton finished seven points above and shut out once in the regular season, Jones could be vital again – especially with 30 clearances across the two playoff legs.

Joe Lewis – AFC Wimbledon

Best Picks for the Fantasy EFL Play-Off Final

Part of the rock-solid Wimbledon back-line, Lewis has scored 27 points in the playoffs with 21 clearances and 7 tackles. Given Wimbledon’s league-leading defence and the Wembley crowd on their side, he could continue his strong form.

Midfielders

Harrison Burrows – Sheffield United

Burrows has been electric in the playoffs, scoring 12 points in each leg thanks to one goal and three assists. In this form, he’s likely to be involved in any Sheffield United goal and is expected to play a key creative role in the final.

Gustavo Hamer – Sheffield United

Hamer added a goal and two interceptions in the semi-finals for 16 points. With 10 goals and eight assists this season, he’s central to how Sheffield United play and should again be involved in the key moments at Wembley.

Forwards

Matthew Godden – Charlton Athletic

Best Picks for the Fantasy EFL Play-Off Final

Godden only scored once in the semi-finals but netted 19 goals during the regular season. As Charlton’s main goal threat, he’ll be expected to deliver in the final and brings plenty of big-game experience.

Josh Neufville – AFC Wimbledon

Neufville, Wimbledon’s Player of the Season, scored in the semis and offers pace and energy on the Wembley pitch. With his contract expiring and interest from higher leagues, he’ll be extra motivated to make a decisive impact.

Teams to Target

Sheffield United

Despite finishing behind Sunderland in the league, Sheffield United’s playoff form and strong defensive record make them favourites to win promotion to the Premier League.

Charlton Athletic

Charlton finished seven points above Leyton Orient and beat them twice in the league. With form and momentum on their side, they should secure a spot in the Championship.

AFC Wimbledon

Although they ended the season below Walsall, Wimbledon have yet to concede in the playoffs and could benefit from strong fan support at Wembley. Their defensive record and recent performances suggest they’re well-placed to reach League One.
