Best Manchester United picks in FPL

We take a look at the best Manchester United picks in FPL. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area, we utilise its fixture ticker and underlying stats to determine which Manchester United players FPL managers should be targeting.

Looking at the best Manchester United picks in FPL could be really beneficial to FPL managers as we approach an exciting double Gameweek. Overviewing both their defensive and offensive options and finding out which players are worth selecting.

Fixtures

Below we can see the fixture ticker. The teams at the top have the best fixtures, going all of the way down to teams with the worst fixtures until the end of the season. Manchester United rank third on the fixture ticker. This indicates they have the third best fixtures in the league until the end of the campaign.

We can also see that Manchester United have a double Gameweek in 29, do not have a fixture in blank Gameweek 32 and have another double Gameweek in 34. What the fixture ticker does not show is that Manchester United are highly likely to have a third double Gameweek in 37. This could suggest their assets are well worth investment.

The Manchester United attack

This season amongst all teams in the league Manchester United rank in the best seven teams for goals scored (41), attempts on goal (366), big chances total (70), minutes per chance (6.8) and shots on target (134).

More recently in the last six matches amongst all teams Manchester United rank in the best four teams for attempts on goal (93), shots in the box (93), big chances total (18), minutes per chance (6.2) and shots on target (32).

The best Manchester United attackers

The standout option in the frontline is Marcus Rashford (£7.3m). The midfielder has managed 14 goals and three assists in his campaign so far. Only Erling Haaland has managed more big chances total than Rashford in the last six Gameweeks (seven).

Another fantastic option is Bruno Fernandes (£9.6m). Amongst all players in the league so far this season Fernandes ranks third for chances created (71) and second for big chances created (19). No player in the league has created more big chances than him in the last six matches (five).

The Manchester United defence

This season amongst all teams in the league Manchester United rank second for clean sheets kept, sixth best for shots on target conceded (104), fourth best for big chances conceded (40) and around mid-table for other key attacking data points. Interestingly they also rank the second worst team this season for attempts from set plays conceded (121).

More recently in the last six Gameweeks amongst all teams Manchester United rank joint second best for clean sheets kept (three), joint fourth best for goals conceded (seven), joint fourth best for shots on target conceded (21) and around mid-table for other key attacking data points.

The best Manchester United defensive players

The standout option in the Manchester United backline is Luke Shaw (£5.2m). Not only has the left-back started the last six Premier League games, solidifying his position in the team but he has also collected four returns in the same period, including a huge 12-point return in Gameweek 23. Shaw also edges his defensive teammates this campaign for non-penalty expected goal involvement (3.02).

Whilst there has been rotation at the back for Manchester United, centre-back Lisandro Martinez (£4.5m) has avoided it and started the last five matches in all competitions. Another safe option is of course goalkeeper David De Gea (£5m). The Spaniard has managed returns in half of his last six matches including a big 10-point return in Gameweek 23.
