Man City play twice in Double Gameweek 36. We take a look at their underlying stats and investigate the ownership percentages for the Man City players. Ahead of matches against Newcastle and Wolves, we assess the best investment options from Man City.
Manchester City need to try and win every point in the Premier League until the end of the season if they want to win the League. The Manchester team have a great run of fixtures and therefore could offer great options for managers.

Underlying Stats
The attack
City have scored 12 goals in their last four Premier League matches. Manchester City’s attacking threat makes them increasingly attractive FPL options. Man City are second for goals scored so far this season, with only Liverpool having scored more.
Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez are tied top for goals scored at City so far this season with 11 each.
The pair are also top for attacking returns at City with 17 each. Both have six assists so far this season.
Of the attacking assets Bernardo Silva has avoided the Pep roulette best having started 30 times this season in the league.
Raheem Sterling is also top for penalty area touches with 184, closely followed by Silva who has had 181.
Sterling also has the most big changes this season with 20.
The defence
Defender Joao Cancelo has had 66 goal attempts this season, more than any other Manchester City player. He has also created 33 chances so far this season. His 87 penalty area touches is only beaten by the more expensive attacking options at Man City.
Cancelo’s 1167 touches in the final third is a team leading total.
Manchester City have also kept 19 clean sheets this season. This not only adds to Cancelo’s appeal, but also to doubling up on Man City defenders. Goalkeeper Ederson is the most secure FPL option alongside Cancelo at Man City this season, however Aymeric Laporte and Dias could also make a great defensive pairing alongside Cancelo for the run-in.
Ownership ahead of Double Gameweek 36
Only two Man City players are owned by more than 10% of managers in the top 10k.
Owning one of them therefore means managers are unlikely to benefit from their points in teams of Overall Rank rise. 2066 managers in the top 10k own both Laporte and Cancelo, a great way to differentiate City players.
The Man City midfielders still have low ownership in the top 10k. None of the Man City midfielders are owned by 5% of the game.
Overall
Man City assets have the potential to bring huge points returns in the final weeks of the season, especially in Double Gameweek 36. However, managers do need to be mindful of Pep’s roulette, especially with the second leg of their Champions League tie with Real Madrid ahead of the deadline. Owning the defensive double up will allow managers to get a rank rise from clean sheets. Owning a midfielder is a great differential.
