Best Head-To-Head Record players for Gameweek 25

The new round of Premier League is ahead. With that in mind and with the help of Fantasy Football Scout, we have dug into the data and plucked out some of best player versus team stats to reveal the best head-to-head record players for Gameweek 25.

Taking a look back at the head-to-head data to find some of the best head-to-head record players for Gameweek 25 could be really helpful to managers. Picking out assets who have great records against their upcoming opponent can help with transfers, captaincy and even chip strategy.

Note: You can find all of the best players in each position for the round ahead based on current data in our FPL Top Picks for Gameweek 25 article.

Bukayo Saka v Burnley

Arsenal are in a great run of form recently – winning all of their last four matches on the bounce. They have a good opportunity to pick up another three points this week as they come up against a Burnley side who rank as one of the worst defensive units in the league.

One player who could have big potential in Gameweek 25 is Bukayo Saka. As we can see, between 2020-2021 Saka returned in six of his 10 matches against promoted sides. What is even more significant is that half of those returns were double-digit hauls.

Kevin De Bruyne v Chelsea & Brentford

Manchester City have a double Gameweek this week with lots of managers flocking to their assets for that reason. The Champions are on a run of 10 wins in row in all competitions now and that could extend with matches against Chelsea and Brentford next.

Kevin De Bruyne seems to have a very good record against his former club. In fact, in between 2015-2021 the Belgian played 11 matches and returned in six of them. He also returned in both of his 2021 matches against Brentford – hitting 19 points for his goal and assist.

Diogo Jota v Luton

Liverpool are another side with a double Gameweek in the round ahead. The Reds face both Brentford and Luton this week. Liverpool have been sustaining some of the best attacking data in the league so far which means their attackers could have huge potential this week.

Diogo Jota is one of their most in-form players at the moment with returns in five of his last six matches. We can also see that in 2021 Jota played four matches against promoted sides and returned in three of them

Virgil Van Dijk v Luton

Liverpool have also been very impressive defensively this campaign – ranking in the top two teams for goals conceded and clean sheets kept so far. The game against Luton could be a good opportunity to maintain or better that record this week.

One of Liverpool’ most successful assets against promoted sides is Virgil Van Dijk. In the 21 matches he played against promoted sides between 2017-2021 the Dutchman hit returns in a massive 16 of them. Those returns consisted of three goals and 14 clean sheets.

Bruno Fernandes v Luton

Luton appear to be a team to target this week as they also have a meeting with Manchester United. The Reds have won four matches on the bounce whilst also scoring a huge 13 goals.

Luton could have their hands full this week especially given the form of Bruno Fernandes against promoted sides in the past. In fact, in the 13 games he played against them between 2019-2021 Fernandes bagged a return in eight of his games.
