Fixtures
Newcastle
Fixtures: Brentford, Sheffield United, Burnley, West Ham and Crystal Palace
Newcastle were one of the best sides in the league last season both defensively and offensively. Unfortunately a tough early schedule against the likes of Brighton, Liverpool, Manchester City and Aston Villa meant that they picked up just one win.
Their poor start to the campaign could have the potential to improve drastically however. They come up against some of the weakest sides in the league in their next five games. This could indicate that investing in their assets hugely beneficial.
Manchester United
Fixtures: Brighton, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Sheffield United
Manchester United were impressive last season under their new coach and that is reflected in their top four finish. The Reds finished in the top teams for goals but also registered more clean sheets than any other team in the division.
Its been a shaky start to the new campaign for Manchester United and they have also kept just one clean sheet in their first four matches. Key defensive injuries could hinder the Reds even more at the back but they look good offensively scoring against Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Arsenal.
Manchester United have some brilliant fixtures to attack looking ahead and could be fully worth investing in from an offensive point of view.
Aston Villa
Fixtures: Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Brighton, Wolves and West Ham
It was a tough start to last season for Aston Villa but new manager Unai Emery came in, turned their fortune around and claimed a European spot. Its been hit and miss for Villa so far losing against Newcastle and Liverpool but beating Burnley and Everton.
Aston Villa have showed that against weaker opposition they can perform and they have some great fixtures ahead, especially from an attacking sense. To reinforce that so far this season they sit in the top eight teams for both goals and big chances.
Chelsea
Fixtures: Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Fulham, Burnley and Arsenal
Chelsea were awful last season or at least well below the expectations of most football fans. The Blues finished in the bottom half of the table and have started the campaign with similar form – in their first four matches they have won one, lost two and drawn one.
The results may not be there for Chelsea but they still rank in the top four teams for both expected goals scored and expected goals conceded. It could be a great opportunity for them to get back on track with their great fixtures ahead.
Liverpool
Fixtures: Wolves, West Ham, Tottenham, Brighton and Everton
Liverpool conceded some concerning defensive data last season but they were also one of the best attacking units in the division. This season the Reds have started how they ended the last, poor defensively and strong offensively.
With three wins on the bounce Liverpool will have huge confidence going into their next period of fixtures. Liverpool have shown they can score against any side so investing in their attackers could be a wise decision looking ahead.
