Best Differentials for UCL Fantasy Matchday 17

Looking to boost your rank ahead of the new round? If so you are in the right place. Here we pick out the Best Differentials for UCL Fantasy Matchday 17.

Differentials are key to gaining rank. Lowly owned and flying under the radar, picking up hauls from one of these assets could see you leap above your rivals in one bold move.

Federico Dimarco – 7% Ownership

The downfall of Federico Dimarco (€5.4m) as a UCL Fantasy asset has been quite frankly shocking. Known historically for his attacking output, the Italian has been limited to 50-60 minute features by manager Simeone Inzaghi which is a huge shame.

It could be a tight game between Inter and PSG, so backing a player to come off early could be a benefit. If Inter can keep out PSG up until the hour mark then Dimarco could well be the only Inter defender we see return. Don’t forget, he also plays at wing-back, a position he has produced four goals and seven assists from domestically this season.

Nicolo Barella – 4% Ownership

Anything can happen this week, literally anything. We could see a goal fest, or we could see the more likely cagey final we have seen several times in the previous years. This works in favour of both defenders and central midfielders.

There is a lack of midfield options this week, so taking a punt there feels a bit easier. To fill that role we could look to Nicolo Barella (€7m). The Italian isn’t completely starved of attacking output before you think it. As well as player of the match awards and 7+ pointers against Manchester City and Young Boys he also created assists against Monaco and Feyenoord.

Fabian Ruiz – 1% Ownership

Points can land to any asset in any position in the final. Take Manchester City’ most recent Champions League win for example – their only goal against Inter was scored by central midfielder Rodri, and not a lot of UCL Fantasy managers would have backed that to happen.

With the above in mind, we look to central midfield once more. This time it’s Fabian Ruiz (€6.7m) to consider, a third of arguably the best midfield in world football. Obviously as a central midfielder, Ruiz has become accustomed to hitting 3-4 four point returns. However, his two assists against Brest, assist against Aston Villa and goal against Arsenal are examples of his potential.

Goncalo Ramos – 1% Ownership

Buying a player who definitely won’t start may seem insane and be a huge risk, but on many occasions in the Champions League a match has gone into extra time. This requires teams to reach into their benches and bring on players who can make an impact.

One of those players is Goncalo Ramos (€7.2m), who has largely flopped since joining from Benfica. Inter have been fantastic from a defensive perspective throughout the competitions. This could mean they keep out PSG long enough to need Ramos, and if subbed on late, he’s likely to play into extra time.
