Best Differentials for EURO Fantasy Matchday 7

We continue our coverage of the summer tournament by picking out some of the best differentials for EURO Fantasy Matchday 7. We do this with the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area and its underlying stats.

Knowing who the best differentials for EURO Fantasy Matchday 7 are could be hugely rewarding. Differentials are players who have low ownership and if successful they can boost both your rank and min-league position.

Robin Le Normand – 2% Ownership

Robin Le Normand versus Germany in EURO 2024

Spain v England, the final is finally here. Differentials at this stage of the competition are scarce so arguably even more important.

Picking a defender just because they have low ownership can work wonders for rank. An example was the recent Stefan De Vrij performance. Many within the community were opting for Denzel Dumfries, Nathan Ake and Virgil Van Dijk that week but De Vrij went unnoticed. That same week the others blanked and De Vrij scored whilst also picking up the player of the match award.

We could see a repeat of the above this week as Robin Le Normand’s (€4.5m) claims the spotlight. The Real Sociedad centre-back returns from his suspension this week after missing out in Matchday 6. England have struggled to look convincing in attack and if Le Normand can get something other than a clean sheet, he could have a huge impact on your rank and mini-league position.

Spain Defensive Stack

The final of any competition is of course very important for footballing reasons. But, it is also extremely significant for final rank and mini-league position. One thing a final is well known for within the fantasy community is something called stacking.

For those not familiar with the term stacking it is basically a word used to describe the bulk purchase of assets from a specific side. For example, if you stacked up on the Spain attack in the last round (with the likes of Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal) you probably had a great week.

With the above in mind we turn our attention to the backline. Spain sit joint second best for clean sheets with three. And with England’s less than convincing attacking displays the Spain defence could have huge potential.

EURO Fantasy managers could opt for a Spain defensive stack. Spain play with a back four so including the goalkeeper you could own Unai Simon (€5.4m), Marc Cucurella (€4.5m), Dani Carvajal (€5.5m), Aymeric Laporte (€5m) and Robin Le Normand (€4.5m). If the Spain clean sheet does come in whilst owning all five then you could be massively rewarded.

Luke Shaw – 2% Ownership

Ahead of the tournament England were favourites to win the trophy and here they are in the final. It hasn’t been been plain sailing for them however, far from it. In fact, they have failed to convince even their own fans they can win it.

Make no mistake though, England should not be underestimated. Gareth Southgate’s men rank joint best in the competition for big chances conceded which shows how good they are defensively.

Taking the above into account it makes sense to back the England defence. With two big features behind him in terms of minutes after returning from injury Luke Shaw (€5m) finally appears ready to start the game ahead.

With England now playing in a back-three system it gives Shaw the freedom to advance into some great attacking positions. His recent injury also indicates he may come off just after the 60th which could also be useful if Spain score late.

Cole Palmer – 6% Ownership

England have been frustrating from an attacking perspective but their recent match against Netherlands was a huge improvement. In fact, it was the first time in the competition that they scored two goals within the first 90 minutes of a match.

With a tough match against Spain next up England may struggle offensively, even if they don’t we are still likely to see Cole Palmer (€7.3m). Palmer played 40+ minutes in Matchday 1 and Matchday 2 so he is evidently one of the the first names called upon by Southgate when struggling to score.

As well as creating an assist for the winning goal against Netherlands Palmer was also the first penalty taker in a recent shootout, which could suggest that he may be on penalty duty when Harry Kane isn’t on the pitch.
