Best Differentials for EURO Fantasy Matchday 5
We continue our coverage of the summer tournament by picking out some of the best differentials for EURO Fantasy Matchday 5. We do this with the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area and its underlying stats.
Knowing who the best differentials for EURO Fantasy Matchday 5 are could be hugely rewarding. Differentials are players who have low ownership and if successful they can boost both your rank and min-league position.
Memphis Depay – 4% Ownership
Netherlands will be one of the most popular teams to invest in this week. However, ownership is mostly based on how many points a player is getting rather than how much potential an asset has. That is the case with our next pick.
Whilst Cody Gakpo takes all the plaudits, Memphis Depay (€7.5m) continues to go under the radar. Although underwhelming with just one goal so far Depay continues to take both corners and free-kicks. He also ranks amongst the best five players for several key attacking metrics including big chances total and total shots in the box.
Stefan De Vrij – 2% Ownership
Staying with Netherlands, as well as being offensively solid they have also impressed from a defensive perspective. The huge clash against France was a good test for their backline and a test they passed. The clean sheet against Romania in the latest round was also a good example of their defensive strength.
Many appear to be selecting the likes of Nathan Ake and Virgil Van Dijk, but in a one-off match anything can happen. This leads us to centre-back Stefan de Vrij (€5m) who not only starts every match for the Dutch but has also notched up an impressive 25 all recoveries so far.
Ruben Vargas – 1% Ownership
Switzerland are likely going to cause England major problems. The Swiss are full of confidence after rolling over Italy comfortably in the round of 16. They also scored against hosts Germany in the Group Stage, so offensively they could be a good team to back if you are looking to go different.
With the above in mind we could look to the likes of Ruben Vargas (€6m). The midfielder was largely the cause of Italy’ loss after scoring and creating an assist. Vargas also claimed the player of the match award which helped him to a huge 14-point haul. His recent performance and his upcoming oppositions shaky campaign earns Vargas a spot amongst the best differentials for EURO Fantasy Matchday 5.
Arda Guler – 7% Ownership
Differentials are differentials for a reason, most of them play for the under-dogs and few want to back them. That is the case with our next pick as Türkiye go into their clash with Netherlands with the odds stacked against them.
Like many under-dogs Türkiye will have to rely on their star players to have a chance against the Dutch, or that is how many football fans see it. With one of their star players returning after suspension, Hakan Calhanoglu, another of their star players appeal rises even more, that player is Arder Guler (€5.9m). Guler has shown star qualities already – banking a goal, an assist and a player of the match award. Türkiye have a huge game ahead of them and Guler could continue to catch the eye.
Declan Rice – 4% Ownership
England although disappointing seem to have an aurar of inevitability around them. They face Switzerland who although impressing so far they also conceded a goal in every one of their Group Stage matches, which suggests backing an England attacker a wise move.
Some will stick with the likes of Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham and some may be taking a punt on the likes of Trent-Alexander Arnold but others could consider Declan Rice (€6.5m). The Arsenal midfielder is yet to return more than four points in EURO Fantasy so could offer a safe floor. Rice also loves a shot from outside the box and if one hits then he could come away with a huge haul.
