Best differentials for Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 5

Last modified date

The new season of German football continues which means the Fantasy game does too. Because of this we take a look at the best differentials for Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 5 with the help of our expert manager and contributor @FPLPlatinum.

Looking at the best differentials for Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 5 can be extremely beneficial for managers. Differentials are lowly owned players that if successful can help you gain rank and an edge over you mini-league rivals.

GK – Kevin Trapp – 10.5m, 9% owned, Freiburg (H)

The hero of the Europa League final in 2022, Trapp is beloved by Frankfurt fans for saving Aaron Ramsey’s penalty to win Frankfurt the Europa League. Fast forward to today, and the former PSG GK is still helping Frankfurt week in and week out.

Trapp is just off a 13-point haul, and has potential to score high as he faces a Freiburg team who aren’t afraid to take shots. Trapp is still relatively low owned, and is an ideal goalkeeper to own, albeit a bit pricy. His consistency and form makes him a great asset to own for MD5.

DEF – Dan-Axel Zagadou – 4.4m, 8% owned, Darmstadt (H)

Zagadou is in relatively good form leading up to his next fixture. The former Dortmund man is averaging eight points a game, which was also his exact score in his last fixture. His price alone makes him an appealing option, even as a bench player. Not many 4.4m defenders will start consistently and rack up eight~ points per matchday.

What makes Zagadou even more appealing is his fixture. Stuttgart take on struggling Darmstadt at home. Stuttgart’s impressive start to the season has seen them score 14 goals in four league games – 10 of them at home (two home and away games). Zagadou has notched up a goal already, and you can expect Stuttgart form to flourish vs Darmstadt at home.

MID – Leon Goretzka – 12.7m, 8% owned, Bochum (H)

What can be said about Goretzka that hasn’t been said already? The world-class midfielder already has 36 points – or nine per game – and has himself a goal. The midfield maestro has always been a reliable pick if you consistently want 8-9 points per week.

He will occasionally haul, but he’s good for his consistency. While majority of managers will have Simmons, Brandt, and Hoffman/Wirtz in their midfield, Goretzka is a solid option to pick if managers are looking for a safe, consistent differential pick.

FWD – Andrej Kramaric – 13.1m, 2% owned, Union Berlin (A)

Hoffenheim have been impressive so far in this Bundesliga campaign. They’ve won three games on the bounce, and only narrowly lost 2-1 to Freiburg in MD1. Kramaric has been a reason for this form, as the Croat has returned in every single game since the MD1 loss to Hoffenheim – including 2 international games for Croatia.

Kramaric only has three less points than 70% owned Kane, and is the 5th highest scoring forward overall. With Union Berlin playing European football midweek, Hoffenheim could look to capitalise on tired legs and continue their great form into MD5!
