Best Captains for UCL Fantasy Matchday 15

Confusion around captaincy is a common thing in fantasy football, and many are unsure who to give the armband. Here, we take a look at the options and pick out the best captains for UCL Fantasy Matchday 15.
This week UCL Fantasy managers can captain a player on Tuesday, then change on Wednesday if they aren’t happy. Let’s take a look at the options.
Tuesday 29th April

On Tuesday there appears to a clear standout for captaincy. Margins are small at this stage of the competition, so backing the side playing at home seems like a safe bet.
Arsenal face PSG this week at home, and although excellent so far this season, the French side have been hugely inconsistent defensively – keeping just seven clean sheets from 31 domestic league matches, and just five clean sheets from 14 Champions League outings.
With the above in mind, UCL Fantasy managers should look to penalty taker and midfielder Bukayo Saka (€9m). Saka has the essential star quality to flip a game on its head. As well as performing well domestically, Saka has also produced five goals and two assists in just seven Champions League fixtures – averaging out at one attacking return per match.
Tuesday Differentials

Those that don’t captain Saka are likely targeting Ousmane Dembele (€8.6m). Arsenal have impressed defensively both domestically and in Europe this season, and that could be quite limiting for the PSG frontline.
However, if the French side have proved anything, it’s that they continue to beat expectations. Dembele is of course their most successful attacker in terms of output this season – with 27 goals and assists in Ligue 1, and seven goals and three assists in just 12 UCL games.
UCL Fantasy managers could even look to the high upside of their defender picks, along with midfielder Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (€7.6m). Both Nuno Mendes (€5.9m) and Achraf Hakimi (€5.7m) have been regular contributors towards their sides goals recently, and they also have the added bonus of clean sheets if they manage to keep Arsenal out.

Wednesday 30th April

Wednesday also offers a very obvious option for captaincy. Whilst Barcelona come up against the best defence in the entire competition this season up next, Inter have been shipping goals as of late. In fact, the Serie A champions have kept just one clean sheet in their previous 10 matches in all competitions.
The above, the fact Barcelona play at home, and taking into account that they are the highest goal scorers in the Champions League this season, all point toward giving the armband to not just any Barcelona attacker but Raphinha (€7.9m) in particular.
Arguably the most explosive and consistent asset in UCL Fantasy this season, the Brazilian midfielder and set-piece taker has multiple routes to points. Those multiple routes to points have helped him amass a whopping 12 goals and seven assists in the Champions League thus far.
Wednesday Differentials

There doesn’t seem to be a clear second best option behind Raphinha, but there are plenty of alternatives for UCL Fantasy managers to choose from. Staying with the Barcelona attack, we could look to fellow midfielders Ferran Torres (€6.8m) and Lamine Yamal (€7.4m). The former is highly likely to replace the injured Robert Lewandowski up front, whilst the latter has produced two goals and one assist in his previous three Champions League matches.
We can’t disregard that Barcelona have been ropey at best this season defensively. The Catalans are a force offensively, but they were one worst defences in the League phase among the top placed 24 sides. Because of this, Inter’ recent scoring performances against Bayern, and his overall form recently, Inter striker Lautaro Martinez (€9.4m) could be another great pick for the armband.
