Best Budget Strikers in FPL
Here we take a look at the best budget strikers in FPL. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we utilise the fixture ticker, underlying stats and other fantastic tools to shortlist the best amongst the budget forward bracket.
Owning the best budget strikers in FPL can be hugely rewarding for FPL managers. Budget players can be some of the most important assets in the game. Not only can they be some of the best players in the game if successful but they also help enable funds elsewhere.
Rodrigo Muniz
When filtering the Fantasy Football Scout Fixture ticker to the first six Gameweeks Fulham rank higher than any other side in the league. This indicates that they have the best fixtures to start the season and they could be one of the best teams to invest in.
One player we could look to is Rodrigo Muniz (£6m). Muniz proved his ability last season – racking up eight goals and one assist during an eight-match period in the league. Muniz also started nine of his sides last 10 matches of the 23/24 campaign suggesting that he is crucial for the Fulham frontline.
Adam Armstrong
Another side who rank highly on the fixture ticker is newly promoted side Southampton. The Saints start their season with clashes against Newcastle, Nottingham Forest, Brentford and Manchester United, teams who failed to convince defensively last season.
Although they failed to claim automatic promotion from the Championship Southampton ranked in the top two for several key attacking metrics. That was largely due to penalty taker Adam Armstrong (£5.5m) who racked up a whopping 21 goals and 13 assists.
Chris Wood
Nottingham Forest seem to be attracting plenty of attention from the FPL community ahead of the new season. In terms of schedule they come up against Bournemouth, Southampton, Wolves, Liverpool, Brighton and Fulham in their first six games.
Midfield options like Morgan Gibbs-White and Callum Hudson-Odoi are both popular amongst managers but spearheading the attack and ahead of those creative players is Chris Wood (£6m). As well as scoring two goals in pre-season and bagging a brace on his final day of the 23/24 campaign Wood ranked above every other budget striker for non-penalty expected goal involvement last season.
Joao Pedro
Brighton will be hoping they can settle quickly under their new manager. Change has become common at Brighton with a new manager joining, key attackers leaving and players returning from injury. They also face some mixed starting fixtures against the likes of Everton, Manchester United, Arsenal, Ipswich, Nottingham Forest and Chelsea.
If any side has shown they can bounce back after change its Brighton and leading the frontline is Joao Pedro (£5.5m). With a new manager in charge and no Europe we could see much less rotation for Pedro this season. As well as bagging a goal and an assist in his last two matches of last season he also takes his sides penalties which tops off his appeal.
Other Great Budget Strikers
Everton’ Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£6m) was plagued with injuries last season but with a goal in pre-season under his belt he could well start the season strong. He also takes his sides penalties which is a bonus.
Newly promoted side Leicester could surprise FPL managers early on and leading their frontline is Premier League veteran Jamie Vardy (£5.5m). He may be 37-years-old but he produced an impressive 18 goals and two assists in the Championship last season.
