Best budget players for Gameweek 3
We pick out the best budget players for Gameweek 3. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker and underlying stats we provide some of the best cheap players, whether that be goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders or forwards for the round ahead.
Finding some of the best budget players for Gameweek 3 can be extremely useful to FPL managers. Cheap players are vital when it comes to trying to fit in the more expensive options and can even be great standalone assets.
Fixtures
Below we can see the ticker in order of fixture difficulty. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures.
Chelsea
Chelsea have started their season very slowly claiming just one point from the four available in the first two matches. That may be the case but they face Luton in Gameweek 3. The Hatters conceded some of the worst underlying defensive stats in the first round. They also failed to convince offensively which could give the Chelsea assets good potential in the round ahead.
In defence managers have several cheap options to pick from but the cheapest is right-back Malo Gusto (£4m). The injury to Reece James means that new signing Gusto is likely to fill in whilst James recovers. Other great defensive options include centre-back Levi Colwill (£4.5m) and goalkeeper Robert Sanchez (£4.5m). All three have solid clean sheet potential for Gameweek 3.
For those looking to find a budget player in attack you could select midfielder Enzo Fernandez (£5m). Enzo takes corners from the left hand side and free-kicks. He also took and missed the last penalty so if given another chance from the spot he could have multiple routes to points. Another less convincing budget midfielder is Conor Gallagher (£5.5m). The injury to Carney Chukwuemeka (£4.5m) opens up a space in the number 10 role which Gallagher has a chance to fill.
Destiny Udogie
Tottenham come into Gameweek 3 full of confidence after easing their way to a 2-0 victory against Manchester United. They face Bournemouth next up who although have showed early promise they still maintained some of the worst defensive and offensive stats in the league last campaign. This could indicate that they remain a team to target.
Full-back Destiny Udogie (£4.5m) has become an exciting watch so far this season. The cheap full-back has shown huge promise offensively – ranking amongst the top four defenders in the division for touches in the opponents half. He also bagged a clean sheet against Manchester United so there could be multiple routes to points against the Cherries in Gameweek 3 with Udogie.
Yoane Wissa
Brentford have started the season very well – taking four points from Tottenham and Fulham in the first two rounds. The results have been good but their underlying offensive data has been excellent. In fact, when compared to every other team so far they rank joint second for goals scored (five), joint second for big chances total (nine) and second best for shots on target (14).
Judging by the Bees early attacking data they could be one of the best teams to invest in this week, even with a game against Crystal Palace ahead. Other than the obvious option of Bryan Mbeumo (£6.6m) some should also consider the cheaper Yoane Wissa (£6.1m). Wissa is the focal point to the Brentford attack and has already amassed a huge 20 points from his first two games.
