Best Budget Players for Gameweek 28

Here we take a look at the best budget players for Gameweek 28 in FPL. It is a big week this week with both Luton and Bournemouth playing twice. This and their nicely priced assets make them a go to this week for budget gems.

Not only will checking out budget players for Gameweek 28 help us enable funds elsewhere within our squads but due to the Double Gameweek it also gives us the opportunity to pick out some of the best assets to buy from the doubling teams.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth have one of the best Double Gameweeks a team could ask for on paper this week. The Cherries come up against two of the three newly promoted sides in Sheffield United and Luton. This alone should be enough to attract managers in droves.

Bournemouth have proven to be more than efficient offensively – having scored more than eight other Premier League sides this season. They also come up against two of the worst defences in the division this week so investing could be very rewarding.

The standout attacker is of course Dominic Solanke but his price-point is well above our budget categorisation. A much cheaper option is fellow forward Antoine Semenyo (£4.5m). As well as his jaw-dropping price the Ghanian also has recent gametime and form on his side – starting all three of his sides last league matches and netting twice. A midfield option that many may show interest in is Marcus Tavernier (£5.4m). What is interesting about Tavernier is that the last time he faced Sheffield United he accumulated a massive 16-point haul after scoring twice and banking all three bonus.

Bournemouth aren’t too shabby defensively either – ranking fifth best amongst all teams for goals conceded in the last six Gameweeks. With their most attacking defender Marcos Senesi out due to injury, one of the safest replacements or alternative options in terms of gametime is Illia Zabarnyi (£4.4m). Those looking for a new goalkeeper could go for Neto (£4.6m) who also has very good potential.

Luton

Although less appealing than Bournemouth’ Double, the fact remains that Luton still play two matches this week and play them against Crystal Palace and Bournemouth. Both sides have shown inconsistencies this season so it could be worth investing in the Luton assets.

Defensively the Hatters have conceded some concerning data defensively. This is enough to avoid a defender without attacking threat. The only defender that offers that is Alfie Doherty (£4.7m). Doherty continues to maintain elite distribution data amongst all defenders. That same data has contributed toward his huge nine attacking returns this season.

For those looking to go cheaper then centre-back Tegen Mengi (£3.9m) has started the last three matches. Mengi however severely lacks attacking threat so being aware of that could be important.

The frontline is where the stats get a little more promising for the Hatters. In fact, in terms of goals, they haven’t failed to score in any of their last 10 league matches. They also sit fourth overall for total attempts on goal in the last six Gameweeks which could be a surprise to many.

The standout attacker is one many will be targeting this week. Carlton Morris (£5.1m) spearheads the Luton frontline and takes their penalties. He has also collected an impressive eight returns in his last 10 matches.

The midfielder of choice will almost certainly be Ross Barkley (£5m). The Former Chelsea and Everton man has revelled in his new role at Luton. Although blanking in his last four matches, in the four matches prior to that he racked up 29 points due to two goals and two assists.
