Our coverage of the summer tournament continues as we take a look through some of the best budget gems for EURO Fantasy Matchday 6. To do this we head over to the Fantasy Football Scout members area and check out their underlying stats.
Knowing who the best budget gems for EURO Fantasy Matchday 6 are could be super helpful for fantasy managers. Budget players are crucial when it comes down to building a team and selecting as many premium players as you would like. So, let’s dive in.
Daniel Vivian
Spain continue to impress both offensively and defensively and their clash against France this week could see that continue. The French have met fans expectations by booking their place in the semi-finals, the only issue is they have done it without scoring a single goal from open play.
The suspension of centre-back Robin Le Normand means that Daniel Vivian (€4m) could step in. Vivian isn’t a regular for Spain but did step in against Albania. There he managed to keep both a clean sheet and rack up nine ball recoveries leading to nine points in Euro Fantasy.
Marc Cucurella
Of the sides who have played five teams in the competition so far France have scored the least with three. Their lack of goal threat is a serious concern and to make it to the semi-finals without a scoring a goal from open play is quite frankly shocking.
Daniel Vivian is the cheapest route into the Spain backline this week but for those willing to pay €0.5m extra then Marc Cucurella (€4.5m) stands out. Cucurella has been brilliant during the competition so far. His form is one of the reasons Spain have managed three clean sheets (second highest in the tournament). As well as huge ball recovery and clean sheet potential Cucurella also spends more time in the oppositions half than his own which indicates he has some attacking potential.
Bart Verbruggen
Netherlands were the only side to secure their position in the semi-finals without the need for extra time. The Dutch come up against England next who of the teams to play five matches so far rank second worst for total attempts on goal, the worst for shots in the box, the worst for total big chances and the worst for total shots on target.
England have repeatedly under performed on football fans expectations offensively so buying into the Netherlands defence may not be a bad move. The cheapest and most reliable route into the backline is goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen (€4.5m). If Netherlands make it to extra time then Verbruggen could even have player of the match potential in the penalty shootout and so eases amongst the best budget gems for EURO Fantasy Matchday 6.
Marc Guehi
England have been extremely disappointing offensively but they they have impressed at the back. In fact, amongst the teams who have played five matches so far they rank the best for total big chances conceded. They have also managed two clean sheets throughout the competition so far.
With the above in mind and a fixture against the Netherlands next up England remain a good option for defensive investment. Returning to the starting XI this week is centre-back Marc Guehi (€4.7m) after serving a suspension. Guehi is yet to bank a return lower than five points in the competition so far and also offers huge ball recovery potential – producing 8+ in all each of his four matches.
