Last modified date

In this article we take a look at some Asia Cup Fantasy expert team reveals for Matchday 2. Our expert Asia Cup Fantasy managers reveal their plans, some of the rationale behind the players they have chosen and the teams they are looking to investing.

Checking out some Asia Cup Fantasy expert team reveals for Matchday 2 can be extremely beneficial. Knowing which players and teams our experts are investing in can give us clarity on decisions we have to make in our own teams. This can also help us with plans around chips, captaincy and transfers.

Note: All teams are subject to change as we approach the deadline.

Notes

  • In terms of current standing I sit in the top 200 managers. This is without using a chip and a team on fire with more players to transfer (four) out than we have free transfers available (two).
  • I might end up taking a -4 hit in MD2 if I think that gives me a significant advantage for the Triple Captain chip activation.
  • Players to sell: I don’t expect the players in my team marked in red to start in MD2. Nawaf: Kicked out from national team after MD1 deadline. I also saw that the 4M Saudi GK could start against Oman in MD1. Homam: Post match news confirmed he has a sprained ankle in the Lebanon match. He is my primary transfer out target. Maeda: 0 mins in MD1, fitness issues, is my secondary transfer out target. He takes up a valuable FWD slot.
  • Lee Ki-je: Terrible performance, responsible for Bahrain goal, got a yellow card, subbed off early. But he costs only 4.5M and might also get leftover minutes so is a lower priority to get rid.
  • If I want to get extra funds, Bayesh 8.5M marked in yellow is my piggy bank.
  • Players to buy: I am on TC2, so I am primarily looking for MD2 day 1 (Qatar) and day 5 (Oman or Saudi) captaincy options. 12.0M Almoez Ali and 11.0M Afif are both on my radar to buy. Afif is 1M cheaper and also on penalties. But, Almoez Ali has more threat from open play.
  • Day 2) My current day 2 C is Orunov, 7.5M MID who played OOP CF for Uzbekistan in MD1. Arguably, he should have scored 1-2 goals against Syria. C upgrade would be 6.5M DEF Souttar. He looks reliable in terms of minutes but also has goal threat as well as clean sheet potential in MD2 against Syria. Every other Australian defender might rotate.
  • Day 3) Iran midfielder Ghoddos got two assists in MD1. He should have eight points by now, and his MD2 fixture is a very tasty one against Hong Kong. The game have not yet added Ghoddos but when he does we should take note.
  • On Day 4 I have triple South Korea already (Son or Kang-In C). But, those looking for a punt could also bet against the Malaysia defence. They just conceded four goals against Jordan in MD1, with a couple more ruled out by VAR.
  • Bahrain attackers could be great budget picks. Yusuf 7M FWD is their primary penalty taker. But he was also (tactically?) benched in MD1. However, Hashash 6.5M scored in MD1 so he might retain the CF spot.
  • Day 5) My only day 5 C option is Tambakti. I don’t really need an expensive option here, since I think Son/Kang-In in day 4 will get a return. As a punt, one could look into Oman attackers since MD2 v Thailand and MD3 v Kyrgyz are both good fixtures. The Saudi team is having internal strife and poor morale, so I would love to watch the Saudi – Oman MD1 match before even considering any Saudi asset like 9.5M FWD Al Shehri.

Notes

  • A pretty rough match week, with a few of my players not starting, including Meshaal, Aqidi (not in the final Saudi squad), and getting Japan completely wrong.
  • My transfers will be focused on those spots.
  • I’m currently leaning towards transferring out Aqidi and Ueda. Aqidi will be transferred to whichever Saudi keeper starts their game against Oman. Ueda will also be transferred to Martin Boyle, who has a great matchup against Syria.
  • I’ll be activating the triple captaincy chip. My captaincy plan being: Mendes, Boyle, Taremi, Son and Al Dawsari.

@fpl_abdullah

Notes

  • I will make my transfers with a -4 hit this week.
  • I’m going to sell Fallah and also Meshaal (this is confirmed).
  • There are a lot of options to consider as Khalizadeh from Iran and Zayed Sultan from UAE are good as well.
  • I’m looking for a Qatar option but it would be instead of Duke, maybe Akram or Ali for captaincy.
  • I will also active the triple captain chip this week.

Notes

  • The first thing we noticed is that a lot of big teams conceded (Iran, Japan etc). So, in my opinion there’s no need to use transfers in defence. I am hoping that Rezaeian starts in md2 and 3, and Burgess md3 maybe.
  • In attack, I’m definitely keeping all three. Taremi is nailed and with Azmoun back I think Iran’s attack will get more exciting. Son is also nailed in my team even with blank in MD1. Finally Ueda who scored off the bench, I think he is going to start this week.
  • I’ll use both of my free transfers in midfield, Mechaal (7.0) and probably Shukorov (7.5). But, I am still not 100% decided. I may also transfer (probably downgrade one of them to Krouma and upgrade the second to a Japan mid (Kubo/Minamino).
  • Al Aqidi (4.5) is out so we may want to replace him but it’s the same for the defence there’s no good alternatives especially at that price.

@FantasyHalf

Notes

  • I swapped Al Aqidi for Nguyen, the only 4m GK so far. I know it’s the same MD as my keeper. But, if they make it through I already own both. Plus, with budget tight it allowed me the 0.5 to upgrade Fallah to Eshmurodov who has a favourable second fixture and also look likely to progress.
  • As we don’t get a WC in the group stage I will likely use the two free transfers again to eradicate any non playing players. If for example Burgess gets no game time.
  • I am not against taking a hit if anything is glaringly obvious that I missed (Japan attacker).
