Arsenal Top Picks for FPL 2024/25

Last modified date

Fantasy Premier League has launched ahead of the new season and managers are hoping to fill their teams with the right players. We help narrow that search down as we take a look at the Arsenal top picks for FPL 2024/25.

Picking out the Arsenal top picks for FPL 2024/25 can be extremely helpful for fantasy managers. Arsenal were one of the best teams in the Premier League last season which made them a go-to team in terms of investment.

Arsenal were brilliant last season. The Gooners finished just two points behind eventual Premier League winners Manchester City after a convincing battle in the title race. In their 38 matches Arsenal won 28, drew five and lost five.

Fixtures

Below we can see the Fantasy Football Scout Fixture ticker based on the first six Gameweeks. We can also see that Arsenal rank fourth from bottom. This means that according to the ticker they have the fourth worst fixtures.

Arsenal Defence

One of Arsenal’s strongest traits last season was their defence. In fact, when compared to every other side they ranked:

  • 1st – Clean sheets (18)
  • 1st – Goals conceded
  • 1st – Expected goals conceded
  • 1st – Total shots in the box conceded
  • 1st – Total shots on target conceded
  • 1st – Total big chances conceded

Comparing the Arsenal Defensive Assets

Comparing the Arsenal defensive assets is a must ahead of the new season. Taking a look at both minutes played and attacking threat could be key to determining the best amongst them.

As you can see from the table below the most reliable in terms of minutes played last season was William Saliba (£6m). The Frenchman played 300+ more minutes than fellow centre-back and teammate Gabriel (£6m).

Also coming close to the 3000 minutes mark is full-back Ben White (£6.5m) and one player we cannot see pictured, goalkeeper David Raya (£5.5m) who played 2800+ minutes.

When comparing their attacking potential, we can clearly see Ben White ahead of the rest with more than double the goals and assists that Gabriel has produced.

In third place is William Saliba after scoring two goals and creating one assist last season.

Additional Notes

Riccardo Calafiori seems to be a key target for Arsenal during the summer window. The Italian can play in both a left centre-back role and a left-back role. Combined with the fact that left centre-back Jurrien Timber (£5.5m) has returned from injury, it could affect Gabriel in terms of gametime.

Conclusion

Taking into account minutes played, attacking threat, price and other factors, William Saliba stands out as the best pick in the Arsenal defence.

Ben White could also be excellent option. Although more expensive and less reliable in terms of minutes White has evident attacking potential.

Gabriel could be a good option taking into account both attacking potential and minutes. However, his expected minutes are at risk as mentioned above. For that reason it could be a case of monitoring him early on.

The cheapest and most reliable route into the defence could well be David Raya, that’s on the basis you are willing to pay £5.5m for a goalkeeper.

Arsenal Attack

Although defensively superior in the league last season Arsenal were still impressive offensively. When compared they ranked:

  • 2nd – Goals scored (91)
  • 3rd – Expected goals scored
  • 3rd – Total attempts on goal
  • 2nd – Total shots in the box
  • 3rd – Total shots on target
  • 5th – Total big chances

Comparing the Arsenal Attackers

We can see that midfielder Declan Rice (£6.5m) sits at the top of the pile for minutes played with 3212.

Following Rice is Martin Odegaard (£8.5m) and just behind him is fellow midfielder Bukayo Saka (£9.5m).

The only other attacker to bank more than 2500 minutes was striker Kai Havertz (£8m).

When comparing those same players for attacking returns it’s Bukayo Saka who reigns at the top with 29.

Interestingly, although played much less minutes than Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz produced the second most returns with 13 goals and 10 assists.

Rice sneaks into the top four, managing just three attacking returns less than Martin Odegaard.

Conclusion

It is clear that Bukayo Saka stands out above the rest.

Kai Havertz could be the second best attacking option at Arsenal after an impressive season.

Whilst Martin Odegaard should also be a consideration, Declan Rice played more minutes, came close to his total for attacking returns and is considerably cheaper which is food for thought.

Top Picks

After comparing all players for both minutes and attacking potential the Arsenal Top Picks for FPL 2024/25 are:
