STRONG FIXTURE

MAN UNITED

It’s one of many strong fixtures for the Red Devils over the next couple of months, with the added potential of two Double Gameweeks to place their recent postponements. Opponents Burnley have generally ranked amongst the season’s worst defences but have kept clean sheets of late, against Wolves and West Ham. However, it may still tempt managers to opt for a Cristiano Ronaldo captaincy, as well as purchase a defensive asset such as Diogo Dalot or David De Gea.

MAN CITY

The eternal conundrum of whether to choose the agony and ecstasy of owning a Man City player. Bernardo Silva was heavily-bought, having scored five times between Gameweeks 11 and 15. Then he managed to not be involved in any of their 11 goals against Leeds and Newcastle. A haul in the former led to over 400,000 immediate Phil Foden transfers, only to see him unused at St James’ Park. Ilkay Gundogan‘s minutes are inconsistent, with Riyad Mahrez now bursting back onto the scene with Raheem Sterling. At least there is relative stability in defence, ahead of their trip to Brentford. Joao Cancelo, Ruben Dias and Ederson play the majority of matches for the league’s best back line.

CRYSTAL PALACE

Owners of Conor Gallagher will be delighted to see the loanee face Norwich at home. Although Dean Smith’s side have solidified since his arrival in Gameweek 12, Gallagher has been a revelation at Selhurst Park and is one of the highest-owned and highest-scoring FPL midfielders. Elsewhere, there seems to be a sharing of minutes between Christian Benteke, Odsonne Edouard and Jordan Ayew that diminished the appeal of all three, whilst there will be some interest in defensive assets like Marc Guehi, Vicente Guaita and Tyrick Mitchell despite there being no clean sheet during their last seven matches.
