STRONG FIXTURE

CHELSEA

Following their 7-0 destruction of bottom-placed Norwich, Chelsea face 19th-placed Newcastle. The Magpies were lucky to nab a draw at Crystal Palace, conceding 75% of possession and escaping a late defeat thanks to VAR. Still to keep a clean sheet this season, owners of Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and Chelsea’s attacking wing-backs will be excited at what could take place at St James’ Park. Thomas Tuchel’s line-up for the midweek Carabao Cup clash with Southampton could offer clues but the German is a paid member of the Pep Roulette fan club.

TOTTENHAM

Might be a risky shout given Spurs’ own problems but they face a Man United side whose inability to keep a clean sheet was exhibited during their 5-0 massacre against Liverpool. They are now ten without a successful shut-out and 11 goals have been conceded during their last three matches. It’s not just them with a managerial situation, with Nuno Espirito Santo discovering that their win at Newcastle may just have been about a weak opponent rather than stumbling upon a solution to Harry Kane‘s problems. However Son Heung-min tallied up three goals, one assist and 25 points from last season’s two meetings. Kane scored 18 points.

LIVERPOOL

It’s not that Brighton are a bad side – they’re fifth in the table and only conceded five times in the first eight matches – it’s just that Liverpool and Mo Salah are so irresistibly good right now. Salah has an eye-watering 107 points thanks to ten goals and six assists from nine games, whilst second best only has a measly 57. Averaging almost 12 points-per-game, Salah has just three single-digit returns so far. Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota have contributed nine goals, Roberto Firmino bagged his own hat-trick at Watford and Trent Alexander-Arnold is the joint-top scoring defender.

INJURIES / BANS

Here is a round-up of the injuries we know of, alongside those serving or nearing a suspension.

TRANSFERS SO FAR

As of Monday evening, these are the most transferred in and out players of the week.

These tend to remain very similar by deadline, unless a major injury or return develops.
