Top FPL Tips For The Season Remainder

Gameweek 38 Free Hit
With the Premier League season being brought to a halt by the coronavirus pandemic, it seems as if the footballing world is looking to Belarus for a fix and with betting on the likes of Dynamo Brest on the rise. While although this Eastern European nation seems to be defying all scientific logic, there will hopefully be a day when English football resumes and although Liverpool are highly likely to be champions, there is perhaps a more important title race to focus on. Private FPL leagues all around the world have been held in a state of limbo and with a quarter of the season still left to play, there are plenty of points up for grabs – points that could see you earn the bragging rights within your friends or family. With that in mind, here are a few tips that will hopefully make a huge difference and whenever this Premier League reaches its conclusion, you might be celebrating with champagne or an open top bus ride through your hometown.
Harry Kane – Tottenham (10.8, 104 points) Admittedly not the best season by Kane’s own standards, although he is far from unable when it comes to scoring goals and with his latest injury woe now all but behind him, the Tottenham talisman will be primed with trying to salvage the North Londoners season. With Jose Mourinho’s men having so few attacking options to call upon, Kane will undoubtedly have to carry the burden for Tottenham. However, this is a player who is more of capable of finding the net and he could provide a real shot in the arm, as far as your FPL campaign is concerned.
Jack Grealish – Aston Villa (6.4, 118 points) At the time of the Premier League’s hiatus, Aston Villa are sitting second bottom of the table and although their defence seems to be doing its absolute best to get the West Midlands outfit relegated, one player is at least rolling up his sleeves. When it comes to Jack Grealish, his contribution both in real life and FPL cannot be understated and when you consider that he has the highest points per million value of all the 10 highest scoring midfielders, there is no doubting the value that he represents.
Martin Dubravka – Newcastle (5.1, 118 points) Admittedly when it comes to Newcastle, they have not been the most glamorous team to select FPL players from and although there have been a paucity of options in the final third of the pitch, they have been at least more stable at the back. With Newcastle set to be taken over by a Saudi Arabian investment fund, the Magpies are probably all playing for their careers in their next nine games and if Martin Dubravka can continue his solid season, he may still be at St’ James Park for the start of the next one.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin – Everton (6.5, 111 points) We often talk about the new manager bounce and although Everton’s current 12th place position does suggest that Carlo Ancelotti’s early magic has waned slightly, the former Napoli boss has at least revived the fortunes of one young forward. The resurgence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin has certainly tied in with the arrival of Ancelotti and although DCL may not be ‘on the plane’ for England this Summer, he can still be a shrewd call up to your squad.
George Baldock – Sheffield United (5.1, 115 points) There’s no doubt that the Blades have had an incredible season under Chris Wilder and now the Yorkshire outfit will want to secure a place in the next edition of the Europa League (although whether this creates problems for them a la Burnley, remains to be seen) When it comes to Sheffield United defenders, the focus is usually on Lord John Lundstram and rightly so. However, with George Baldock earning the most points per million for the 10 highest scoring defenders, he might be another player to put into your late season frame.
Raul Jimenez – Wolves (8.1, 147 points) The thing that stands out about Raul Jimenez is not the fact he wore that mask after scoring in last season’s F.A. Cup Semi-final, but he accrues FPL points in a very consistent manner and instead of worrying about a purple patch, he adds substantial points with each gameweek that passes. There is nothing worse than when you select a ‘statpadder’ the game after he scores four goals and then goes on to hit a blank for the next two. Thankfully, Jimenez does seem like ‘Mr. Consistency’ and his potential late season goal output, might mean all the difference to your title challenge.
