Our Serie A Fantasy Gameweek 7 Team Reveals are here, and in this article we’ll look at the best picks, captaincy options, and transfer strategies ahead of the weekend.

With early-season form starting to show and some standout fixtures on the horizon, it’s the perfect time to review how managers are setting up and where the key differentials might come from.

Notes

  • With injuries to key players in my team (Kristensen and Pulisic are out for a month), my hand is now forced and I need to make a decision. Wildcarding is tempting, but I still want to save it for late December, so I will likely take my first hit of the season.
  • This is a very good time to finally jump on Nico Paz’s bandwagon. Juventus is lacking defensively (especially with Bremer’s injury) and Como’s run of fixtures after that is very appealing.
  • Defensively, I have many options ranging from Ndicka and Mancini to Bastoni, but in the end the defence I seem to trust the most (despite not a great run of matches ahead) is Allegri’s, reason for which I’m most likely doubling up on Milan again after selling Pulisic: Gabbia is more nailed than Tomori in my opinion, so I will go for him.

Notes

  • The last couple of GWs have been pretty disastrous for me, with injuries, rotation and missed penalties (thanks, Christian) causing me to drop back from an OR of ~40 a couple of weeks ago.
  • In an ideal world, my move this week would be to use the €1.1 million I have in the bank to upgrade the underperforming Albert Guðmundsson for Mathias Soulé. However, this feels like a luxury move, with at least one if not two of my defenders (Thomas Kristensen and Pervis Estupiñan, respectively) missing through injury and a third (Francesco Acerbi) at risk of rotation once again. Soulé also faces Inter this week so I don’t mind waiting another week to bring him in (providing I still have sufficient funds to transfer him in).
  • With Kristensen likely to be out for at least one month, he is likely to make way this week. Atalanta, Juventus and Roma are coming into a good run of fixtures, but have tricky matchups this week, so I may look to a Bologna defender such as Torbjørn Heggem to plug the gap for now.
  • I’m hoping Domenico Berardi is available this week to take the first captaincy of the GW, with Giovanni Simeone, Nico Paz, Riccardo Orsolini, Christian Pulisic and Keinan Davis subsequent options for the armband should Berardi fail to net a haul.

Serie A Fantasy Gameweek 7 Team Reveals
  • Last week was a grim round, and I dropped to 87th in the world. I’m overall very happy with my squad though, bar the odd injury.
  • My original plan was to bring in Pulisic with funds I have raised over previous weeks. All that planning and Pulisic is now injured.
  • With Kristensen now out though, I think it’s time to look at a Genoa defender. They have excellent fixtures coming up, arguably the best in the league from a defensive perspective. I have my eye on Brooke Norton-Duffy who has started all six of their league matches this season. He also comes in at €4.6m, which means I can roll my money in the bank over to next week.
  • Eventually I’ll probably upgrade another striker. But, as it stands, I have a lot of money in the bank just in-case I want to make a big money move.
  • If Berardi is still out then I’ll likely just keep him and choose a different first match captain. If it’s long-term, I may still wait to bring in someone like Soule.
  • Good luck this week.
