Best Players to Buy

- Arsenal – The Gooners rank second on the ticker for the period ahead, so investing could be crucial. Goalkeeper David Raya (£5.7m) remains one of the safest routes into the backline, the standout pick is centre-back Gabriel (£6.3m). Fellow defender Jurrien Timber (£5.9m) has also gained popularity due to his attacking potential. In attack, it could be a difficult decision between striker Viktor Gyokeres (£9.1m) and midfielder Bukayo Saka (£9.9m), but the latter appears more of a threat from open play and took the previous penalty.
- West Ham – With Nuno Santos in charge now after Graham Potter’ departure, we could see big improvements from West Ham. The former Nottingham Forest manager maintained one of the best defences in the league so backing the attacking El Hadji Malick Diouf (£4.4m) could be a good move. Centre-back Max Kilman (£4.4m) is another route into the backline but with good defcon potential. The best of the bunch in attack is talisman Jarrod Bowen (£7.7m) who is a constant threat. FPL managers could also consider midfielder Lucas Paqueta (£5.9m). The Brazilian has already collected two defcon returns and two goals this season.
- Newcastle – The Magpies have impressed in multiple areas this season. One of those areas is defence – after managing more clean sheets than any other side thus far. Goalkeeper Nick Pope (£5.1m) could be the standout due to gametime reliability. Defender Dan Burn (£5.1m) has also been a steady source of points for owners. Penalty taker Anthony Gordon (£7.4m) bagged three goals in his two Champions League matches – displaying his threat. Leading the attack though is Nick Woltemade (£7.2m), who has netted in three of his four games.
Who else should we consider?

- Wolves – Strand Larsen (forward – £6.4m)
- Liverpool – Mohamed Salah (midfielder – £14.4m)
- Tottenham – Pedro Porro (defender – £5.6m) and Mohammed Kudus (£6.7m)
- Chelsea – Robert Sanchez (goalkeeper – £4.9m), Enzo Fernandez (midfielder – £6.7m) and Joao Pedro (forward – £7.7m)
- Manchester City – Erling Haaland (forward – £14.5m)
- Crystal Palace – Chris Richards (defender – £4.5m), Ismaila Sarr (midfielder – £6.5m), and Jean Phillipe Mateta (forward – £7.5m)
Should we play a chip?

- Wildcard – Using the Wildcard in any given Gameweek if you have multiple issues could be extremely useful for FPL managers. That goes for setting up for a Bench Boost in the rounds ahead. But, Wildcarding in ahead of Gameweek 8, during an international break, could help navigate injuries and target fixture swings.
- Bench Boost – Burnley face Leeds in Gameweek 8 so it could be a great opportunity for FPL managers to benefit from their assets. Gameweek 9 also sees Burnley and Leeds face ropey opposition. Whilst their fixtures don’t look as appealing as Gameweek 8, it could be the last best time to trigger the Bench Boost chip.
- Free Hit – All three upcoming Gameweeks could be fine opportunities to use the Free Hit. If you feel like your team needs a re-adjustment due to tough fixtures, change due to injuries or a premium asset then Free-Hitting could be beneficial.
- Triple Captain – Many will likely look to Erling Haaland when it comes to using the Triple Captain Chip. However, with mixed fixtures ahead for his, holding on to it could be a wise move. Though, he could return well against any side in his current form.
