Fantasy EFL Gameweek 11 Team Reveals

Notes

  • With the international break limiting the number of EFL fixtures this week, there aren’t many under-the-radar gems to pick from. The pool is smaller, and some picks are simply too obvious to ignore, especially in midfield.
  • In goal, I’m going with Fleetwood’s Lynch. He faces Harrogate at home, a side that plays direct, which should give him plenty of save opportunities. In addition, Fleetwood should have the edge in this fixture.
  • In defence, I like Gillingham’s Andy Smith – nailed for 90 minutes and with a favourable matchup, I feel it’s essential to own at least one Gills defender this week.
  • Partnering him is Oldham’s Monthe. They’re usually solid at home and tend to keep things tight, so a clean sheet is definitely on the cards.
  • Midfield is where the obvious picks shine. Reading’s Wing is their talisman and faces Exeter, which looks like a good fixture. Norwood has been the standout MVP so far – hard to leave him out. ACD (Aaron Collins Davis) is in excellent form lately, delivering consistently, and has another favourable matchup.
  • Up front, Grimsby’s Vernam is on fire recently and offers great value this week. In terms of club picks, I’m backing Gillingham and Grimsby. Both have strong fixtures and I’ve already touched on the reasons I expect solid returns from their key assets.

Notes

  • Another round is here, and I’d highly recommend checking that the players you’re picking aren’t on international duty. A few key assets will miss this week, and that always catches a few managers out.
  • In goal, I’ve gone for Hinchliffe. As always, I prefer targeting clean sheet potential with my keeper, and this week, not many defences stand out. Stockport, however, do catch the eye. They’ve improved defensively over the past few games and face a managerless Blackpool side who haven’t impressed going forward. It’s one of the few fixtures where I can see a clean sheet.
  • At the back, I’m sticking with two defenders again as it feels there’s little value in defence this week, so I’d rather chase upside further forward.
  • First up is Monthe. He faces a Barrow side sitting 23rd in the league for shots per match and 21st for xG, scoring just nine all season. Oldham have already kept five clean sheets and conceded a relatively low xG, making this a great fixture to target. Barrow are also a very direct side further boosting his appeal with better defensive numbers.
  • My second defender is Willis. With Forbes on international duty, Willis should play as the central CB, if he doesn’t, I’ll swap to whoever does. Northampton have been one of the strongest defences in the league, having only conceded one goal at home and have kept seven clean sheets in their last eight games across all competitions. Rotherham continue to struggle in the attack, missing key players, so there’s an appeal of a clean sheet here.
  • In midfield, the first name on my team sheet is Norwood. He’s Mr Consistent right now and will be one of the most owned players this week. His routes to points are amazing with key passes, interceptions alongside set pieces including penalties. Even when the majority of his attacking returns have come from pens, his floor is still fantastic. He currently takes the armband unless I fancy taking a risk with a higher upside option.
  • Joining him is Kabia. He plays a Colchester side who have been weak defensively, especially since the injury of Flanagan. Even if he’s off pens, he’s still providing strong attacking stats of 0.40 xG per 90 from open play, playing as the main striker. He’s part of one of the most creative and hence high scoring sides in the league.
  • The final midfield spot goes to Cozier-Duberry, although I am very tempted by a switch to a 2-2-2 and bringing in Burstow instead. Burstow has offered more goal threat than Cozier-Duberry as of late. Burton have also conceded the highest xG in the league and look really poor defensively, especially at home, so going with an attacking option feels a good play this week.
  • Up front, Mellon leads the line. Not overthinking this one, he’s been getting more minutes and is in great form, with two goals in his last two games and 10 shots on target in his last five. He’s at home to Barrow, so the fixture is pretty strong too.
  • For team picks, I’ve decided to go with Grimsby and Walsall. I’ve already used Bolton twice this season so I’ll save them for later. Grimsby feels the safer pick, but I really like Walsall too, they are unbeaten in their last eight and up against a Crawley side who’ve lost three on the bounce.

Notes

  • For the goalkeeper, I’ve gone with Morris (Gillingham). They face Cheltenham, who are averaging just 0.6 xG per 90 this season. Gillingham’s defence has been solid overall, making this a good fixture for cover at the back.
  • In defence, my first pick is Monthe (Oldham). Oldham play Barrow at home, a side that struggle in attack. Monthe has already made 93 clearances in 11 games, so he looks like a strong pick in a good fixture.
  • My second defender is Thorniley (Northampton). Northampton have kept five clean sheets in their last six. Thorniley has started the last three matches, producing 28 clearances in that time.
  • Moving into midfield, I’ve picked Cozier-Duberry (ACD). He has so many routes to points and faces Burton, who have struggled at home. My second midfielder is Norwood (Stockport). Like ACD, he offers multiple ways to score points and has a strong fixture against a Blackpool side who have just sacked their manager. My third midfielder is Kabia (Grimsby). Grimsby average 1.8 xG per 90 and have been excellent going forward. At home to Colchester, Kabia feels like a standout attacking option.
  • Up front, I’ve chosen Mellon (Oldham). Again, Oldham play Barrow at home. Mellon has managed 10 shots on target in just five games, scoring three goals, so he comes into my side this week.
  • As for team selections, my first is Grimsby Town. They have a strong attacking fixture at home, and Colchester have only won once in their first five away games. My second is Stockport, who face a Blackpool side in transition after losing their manager. Stockport’s recent results suggest they’re turning a corner, making them a team to back.

Notes

  • Glenn Morris is in goal as Cheltenham have only scored twice away all season.
  • I have gone with a two at the back, with Emmanuel Monthe whose averaging over six points per game and big Aden Flint who loves a clearance and has attacking goal threat too.
  • Oliver Norwood picks himself as he’s been unbelievable with points coming from everywhere. Sam Gale is in for his interceptions. Lastly I will take a punt on Idris El Mizouni as his routes to points are decent too.
  • Charles Vernam CF is in as he’s bang in form and I feel he can do well again this week too.
  • Grimsby and Walsall are my team picks this week, Both teams are on good runs and are in the top three of league 2 playing weak opposition.
  • My skipper this week Oliver Norwood.

@Fantasy_Feetzz

Notes

  • Formation: 2-3-1
  • Captain: Ollie Norwood (STP)
  • Team Picks: STP (H) & BOL (A)
  • This week looks like one for safer, conservative picks. The aim is steady points, not chasing big goal hauls. I don’t expect major rank movement.
  • GK – Jake Eastwood (CAM – 0.9% selected) – Cambridge travel to struggling Shrewsbury, who have scored just seven goals all season – only two at home. Eastwood has a strong chance of a clean sheet here.
  • DEF – Max Clark (GIL – 0.5%) & Connor Barrett (WAL – 13.7%) – Clark could be any of Gillingham’s backline, but I’ve picked him. Cheltenham have scored only two goals away from home. As a set-piece taker, Clark also carries attacking upside, already posting two double-digit returns this season.
  • Barrett has been outstanding – two goals (+14), two assists (+6), and 75 defensive contributions. That averages seven points per game. Crawley score just 0.8 goals/90 and concede 1.7, giving Barrett potential at both ends.
  • MIDs – Amario Cozier-Duberry (BOL – 14.7%), Sam Gale (GIL – 3.3%) & Ollie Norwood (STP – 23.6%) – ACD is relentless. He’s managed 15 shots on target (+15), six goal contributions (+24), and six interceptions (+12). Burton have conceded nine goals at home, and ACD looks their biggest threat in GW11.
  • Gale has been immense recently – 29 points in his last two games, including 12 interceptions (+24). Cheltenham will try to play through midfield, and Gale is primed to rack up more turnover points.
  • Norwood completes the midfield trio. He’s the top FEFL scorer this season (110 pts) and Stockport’s talisman. Only one single-point return in his last five games. Facing a Blackpool side who’ve sacked Steve Bruce, scored just one away goal, and conceded nine, Norwood looks a standout captain.
  • FWD – Mason Burstow (BOL – 5%)- This was the toughest call with options like Vernam (77 pts), Cheek (69 pts), and Wootton (67 pts). But Burstow’s form swung it – four goals (+20) in his last five games from just five shots on target (+5). Clinical, and Burton’s leaky defence makes him the pick.
  • Team Picks: No surprises – Stockport and Bolton stand out. Burton’s home form is poor, Blackpool’s away record worse. Both sides should be fancied to take the wins.
