Fantasy WSL 2025/26 Gameweek 5 Team Reveal

@Schurrle_FWSL Fantasy WSL 2025/26 Gameweek 5 Team Reveal is here, and with three exciting rounds behind us, managers are starting to spot the trends that can define their season.

In this article, Joe will be sharing his latest team reveal for Gameweek 5, looking at the key players I’m backing, where I see the biggest opportunities, and the transfers that could make the difference this week.

Team Reveal

A captaincy haul from Bunny Shaw, as well as some very fortunate early substitutions made gameweek 4 a great week for my team. 73 points was 30 points above the average, which helped push me up to 205th, a rank I’m very happy with at this stage.

Gameweek 5 sees each of the big four play each other, and decisions this week are going to be extremely difficult. Here’s how my team currently lines up:

Goalkeeper

No problems in goal. Szemik’s visionary status was key again. She returned five points, even after conceding four. My backup, Borggräfe, made her first WSL start too. For the first time this season, I’m not worried about a goalkeeper transfer.

Defenders

McCabe was subbed off in the 87th minute on Saturday. That meant she kept her clean sheet points and earned two bonus points. She also avoided Villa’s late equaliser. Despite a tough game at Man City, her attacking threat makes her worth starting.

Olislagers continued her form. That’s now three returns in four games. She faces Tottenham next. It could be her last outing before Brighton meet Arsenal and Man United.

Olivia McLoughlin was my second transfer last week. She replaced Jade Rose. She returned zero points on Sunday, but I still like her potential. A midfielder listed as a defender, with visionary status intact, is a nice punt.

Everton have been poor since their opener at Anfield. Pacheco was subbed early against Brighton, which worries me about her minutes. She stays in my XI for now. Ideally, I’ll bring in someone that allows me to bench her.

Sandberg missed United’s last match with illness. She should be back to face Chelsea on Friday. I’ll leave her on the bench, but she’s a solid budget route into United’s defence.

Midfield

Caldentey is now joint-second among midfielders. She scored nine points last weekend. Bonus points in three of Arsenal’s four games show her consistency. She’s locked in for me long term.

Vignola also sits joint-second. Most of her points came from her week one hat-trick though. She’s blanked three in a row since. Even so, she could deliver in gameweek five, especially if she keeps playing as a striker.

Fujino was a disappointment in gameweek four. No returns and little involvement. I’m not sure I’ll start her. She’s on the transfer list.

Thompson repaid my four-point hit from gameweek three. A clean sheet gave her three visionary points. Still, I’m not confident in her minutes or attacking returns. She’s another possible sell.

Godfrey stays on the bench. She should be back in the London City squad very soon.

Forwards

My strikers hit four goals between them in gameweek four. Tougher fixtures are coming. Even so, I see no need for changes up front.

Captaincy

I’m lost on captaincy this week. The armband is on Bunny Shaw after her brace. It might stay there. I could also gamble on a new signing, but I haven’t decided who that will be.

Potential Moves

I held my transfers through the price changes. I’ll wait until Friday to confirm moves. Options are open. Thompson or Fujino could go. Possible replacements: Höbinger, Kafaji, Kirby, Grant, Hanson, Toone or Cain. A defensive switch is also possible.

Check my Twitter on Friday for the final decision.
