Goalkeepers

Arsenal have been fantastic defensively – conceding just three big chances all season. This week they come up against West Ham, and one of the safest routes into their backline in terms of minutes is David Raya.

Martin Dubravka helps enables funds elsewhere in the team.

Defenders

With the above in mind, it could be wise to double up on the Arsenal defence this week. Hosting the Hammers, Gabriel could prove his attacking threat once more – after finding the net against Newcastle last week.

No player has managed more defensive contributions than Marcos Senesi. The Bournemouth centre-back has also managed to secure defcon points in every one of his matches so far. The Cherries could also have clean sheet potential against Fulham.

Leeds have impressed, but Tottenham still have a great opportunity to add to their solid clean sheet total. With doubts around the wing-backs, it could be safer to opt for Mickey van de Ven, who has already scored in the league this season.

Crystal Palace’ Chris Richards could be a fantastic option off the bench, when considering his defcon average and clean sheet potential. Leeds centre-back Joe Rodon joins him, but is unlikely to feature for us.

Midfielders

With four goals and two assists already this season, Antoine Semenyo remains one of the most in-form attackers in the league. This week he faces a Fulham side who continue to leak goals.

Crystal Palace continue to impress. The Eagles are now unbeaten in 19 matches after edging Liverpool in the latest round. This week they face Everton, and one player who could have potential is Ismailla Sarr who recently returned from injury and scored in the previous Gameweek.

Brentford rank among the worst four sides for total goals conceded so far. Manchester City lay ahead, who seem to be gathering offensive momentum. One of several options with potential is Phil Foden.

Tottenham have a great fixture this week. Thomas Frank’ men will be keen to bounce back after a lack-lustre 1-1 draw against Wolves, and their most nailed and effective attacker appears to be Mohammed Kudus.

Enabling the team and impressing since joining from Chelsea is Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Forwards

Erling Haaland heads into the next round after hitting two goals and an assist against a poor Burnley defence. Brentford next up, a side who have also been statistically poor defensively, could have their work cut out trying to stop the in-form Norwegian.

Ollie Watkins may have started the season extremely poorly, but his cool and calm finish in the latest round suggests his confidence hasn’t taken too much of a knock. Aston Villa come up against newly promoted Burnley next so Watkins could well add to his tally.

Arsenal could dismantle a poor West Ham defence up next, and leading the attack is Viktor Gyokeres. Although struggling against top defences, the Swede hasn’t had the same problems against weaker sides.
