Fantasy EFL Gameweek 8 Top Picks

As we head into another round of fixtures, it’s time to look at the players who could really make a difference. @FPLEdgeworth breakdown of the Fantasy EFL Gameweek 8 Top Picks will highlight the key names worth considering, based on form, fixtures, and their potential to deliver points.

Goalkeepers

Filip Marschall – Stevenage

Fantasy EFL Gameweek 8 Top Picks

We start this week’s top picks with Filip Marschall of Stevenage, who faces Exeter at home. Stevenage are yet to concede on their own turf this season, while Exeter have only managed one away goal. That sets Marschall up nicely for another potential clean sheet.

Ben Killip – Portsmouth

Another strong option is Ben Killip of Portsmouth. He comes up against Sheffield Wednesday, who have failed to score in both of their matches so far. Portsmouth themselves haven’t conceded in their last two games, giving Killip a solid chance of keeping that run going.

Defenders

Max Clark – Gillingham

Fantasy EFL Gameweek 8 Top Picks

Max Clark makes the list after an excellent run since returning from suspension. In his last three matches, he’s picked up 31 points, including a goal from the penalty spot – a sign he could now be Gillingham’s regular taker. With Newport up next, a side winless in six, Clark looks like a top pick.

Ross McCrorie – Bristol City

Ross McCrorie also makes the cut. Bristol City defenders have scored eight or more points in all but one game this season, and McCrorie has been a big part of that consistency. Against Oxford, who are yet to find the net this campaign, he should continue his strong form.

Midfielders

Anis Mehmeti – Bristol City

Anis Mehmeti is the definition of boom or bust. He’s delivered three double-digit hauls already this season but has also blanked twice. Facing an Oxford side still searching for their first win, this feels like another chance for him to haul.

Oliver Norwood – Stockport County

Fantasy EFL Gameweek 8 Top Picks

Oliver Norwood is all about reliability. He has scored six or more points in every match but one this season and offers returns across multiple avenues. That consistency makes him a near lock for another strong score this week.

Forwards

Daniel Udoh – Salford City

Daniel Udoh has hit the ground running at Salford. In just two appearances, he’s racked up 26 points. With Swindon next — a side that has conceded in all but one of their games — Udoh looks well placed to add to his tally, aiming for a fifth goal contribution in just three matches.

Josh Sargent – Norwich City

We finish with Josh Sargent of Norwich. He’s only dropped below eight points once this season and already has five goals to his name. This week he faces Wrexham, who have conceded two or more in all but one match, giving Sargent another great opportunity to score.

Teams to Target

Gillingham

Gillingham remain unbeaten this season and now take on a Newport team without a win in six. Even away from home, they look well positioned for three points – plus those valuable away win bonuses.

Bristol Rovers

Bristol Rovers are another team in form, having won their last four matches. Their opponents, Colchester, are winless in their last five. With Rovers also playing away, a victory here would mean not just three points but the added away bonus too.
