Goalkeepers

Crystal Palace have already kept two clean sheets going into Gameweek 4. Sunderland lay ahead, so it could be a good opportunity to add to that tally with the help of Dean Henderson (£5m).

Unlikely to feature and helping enable budget in the starting XI is Martin Dubravka (£4m) of Burnley.

Defenders

Crystal Palace’ fixture against Sunderland could warrant a double up in defence. This is especially when considering their defenders offer multiple routes to points. One of them is attacking wing-back Daniel Munoz (£5.5m).

Another player who holds significant attacking threat is Pedro Porro (£5.6m). Tottenham face West Ham this week who have failed to convince – giving Porro an opening to hit multiple routes to points.

Completing the three man backline is Virgil Van Dijk (£6m). Liverpool could cruise to a clean sheet in Gameweek 4 against Burnley, so buying into the Liverpool backline feels like a shoo-in. The best of the bunch is arguably Van Dijk, who ranks among the top three defenders for defensive contributions so far.

On the bench is Fulham’ Joachim Andersen (£4.2m) and Sunderland’ Reinildo (£4m). Both are unlikely to feature but both help enable funds elsewhere.

Midfielders

Liverpool had better underlying attacking metrics than any other side in the league last season. With that in mind, facing newly promoted Burnley makes their offensive assets essential. Their most reliable asset in terms of gametime is penalty taker Mohamed Salah (£14.5m). Another player who is likely to start, even with new signings, is Florian Wirtz (£8.4m). He heads into the round after bagging a goal for Germany during the break.

West Ham have conceded a huge eight goals already this season. This paints a huge target on their backs from an attacking perspective. One of Tottenham’ most impressive assets so far is Mohamed Kudus (£6.6m) who has an opportunity to punish his former sides backline.

Brighton are another side who have failed to convince at the back. The Seagulls have conceded in each of their first three games, and that is the type of defensive form Bournemouth’ Antoine Semenyo (£7.4m) could take advantage of.

Forwards

There are plenty of good forwards to choose from this week, so opting for three up top could be hugely beneficial. Leading the Spurs attack recently is Richarlison (£6.7m). As well as coming in cheap the Brazilian has produced two goals and an assist already.

With two goals and two assists in his first three matches, it’s difficult to ignore Chelsea’ Joao Pedro (£7.7m). Brentford conceded more shots than most teams in the league last season, so Brazilian could have a field day.

Crystal Palace have huge potential heading into their home match against Sunderland. The Eagles continue to impress under Oliver Glasner, and their main man is penalty taker Jean Philippe Mateta (£7.5m), who has already found the net this season.
