Notes
- In goal I have currently gone with Mads Hermanson as he seems a solid pick this week at home to Sheffield Wednesday who have troubles.
- In defence I have gone with Leicester’s Jan Vestergaard in the double up with Hermanson in goal.
- Crawley’s Dion Conroy is alongside him as Newport don’t have the best away record.
- Harrison Burrows is an attacking full back on pens and plays at home, so he makes up the three.
- In midfield I’m going with DKD, who if he plays centrally can really show how good he is and grab a goal or two.
- Antoni Sarcevic is currently next to him, but this spot could also be Jack Rudoni as I think both are strong picks this week. I’ll make a call on matchday.
- The CF spot goes to Matthew Dennis. He plays a Salford side who conceded 10 shots on target at home last week, which seems promising for Dennis this week.
- With Club Picks, I have gone with Leicester who have a great chance to get off to the perfect start. They play Sheffield Wednesday who are favourites for relegation.
- I am also going for Southampton as I think they will get the win over newly promoted Wrexham.
- Captaincy is on Harrison Burrows this week, but that may change closer to deadline.

Notes
- Crawley’s goalkeeper Davies, a former Liverpool academy player, is probably the standout in their squad at the moment. They’ll be hosting Newport, a side that often struggles to score away from home and are considered one of the main relegation candidates.
- As for my Leicester picks, I’m still deciding between two defenders or a combination of a defender and a midfielder/forward. For now, I’m using Okoli and El Khannouss as placeholders – both are strong picks and could easily remain in my final squad.
- One of the most popular defenders this week will likely be Sheffield United’s Burrows – an attacking wing-back and nailed penalty taker who impressed in the playoffs. Despite the change in management, his quality is clear.
- Another defender I like is Piergianni from Stevenage. He made 16 clearances in the opener against Blackpool and now has a favourable home fixture against Rotherham, who’ve lost key defenders during the summer.
- In midfield, aside from my potential Leicester pick, Davis Keillor-Dunn stands out. Although listed as a midfielder, he plays up front for Burton, making him an excellent out-of-position option.
- For the striker slot, I’m leaning toward Notts County’s Dennis. With Jatta still suspended and Salford missing key players like Ashley and Mnoga, it’s a promising matchup. Salford conceded 10 shots on target in a 3-1 home loss to Crewe and could have easily lost by more. At the moment, I’m focused on Leicester and Crawley for team coverage, as they offer solid fixtures and dependable picks – all backed by the reasoning above.

Notes
- I’ve chosen Hermansen as my keeper, with Leicester facing a severely weakened Sheffield Wednesday side who are struggling to even field a full professional squad. The clean sheet odds are high, and with Leicester’s defenders unlikely to get many defensive actions, Hermansen feels like the most reliable route into their backline.
- In defence, I’ve opted for Stevenage’s Piergianni. He has excellent defensive numbers and have one of the best clean sheet chances this week as they face a Rotherham side that notoriously struggle on the road.
- Leicester’s Vestergaard joins him, making it a double up on Leicester defence. While he may not bring many defensive contributions, Sheffield Wednesday conceded the second-highest xG from set pieces last season so there’s some attacking upside too.
- The third spot goes to Fantasy EFL favourite Demetriou, who has a good home fixture against Accrington and takes the captaincy armband.
- In midfield, I’ve gone with Rudoni, who has one of the highest ceilings this week. He faces a team many expect to be in the relegation zone, and if he hits 14+ points, I’ll consider activating the vice-captain trick.
- He’s joined by Gustavo Hamer, Sheffield United’s talisman, who has an appealing home fixture against Bristol City with a potential for a big haul.
- Forward options are wide open this week, I’ve selected Dennis to lead the line. Notts County face a depleted Salford side missing key players who conceded a lot of chances to Crewe last week. I’m backing Leicester and Coventry as my two club picks this week. Leicester are the obvious pick, while the second club spot is more difficult to choose.

Notes
- GK – Zach Hemming (CHF)- Despite being unconvincing in attack, Chesterfield started the season with a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Barrow. I expect this will continue against Cheltenham who are weak in all areas – especially attack.
- DEFs – Will Wright (SWI), Harrison Burrows (SHU) and Luke Thomas (LEI) – After being rewarded with a goal for Wright in GW1, I’m sticking with the Swindon man after his nine point return. Continuing the trend of picking attacking defensive assets, I’ve turned to Burrows who was a midfielder in FEFL last season and was incredible in the playoffs for goals and assists. The final defensive spot goes to Luke Thomas, who will look to dominate the left channel for Leicester in their home game to cash-strapped Sheffield Wednesday.
- MIDs – Davis Keillor-Dunn (BAR) and Rubin Colwill (CAR) – DKD showed up against Plymouth to continue his red hot form from last season. Though he seems to now be occupying the left flank, I still back him for a return at home to Burton this week. Colwill demonstrated his ability in preseason and this continued into GW1 where he bagged a goal. I expect a similar dominating performance away to Port Vale.
- FWD – Abdul Fatawu (LEI) – Unsurprisingly, Fatawu is the highest selected Championship attacker for GW2. After his sensational solo effort against Fiorentina in preseason, he will be looking to produce the goods again against a Sheffield Wednesday team who are in dire straits off the pitch.
- Team Picks: I’m tripling up on Leicester this week and targeting Sheffield Wednesday. I think most managers will be targeting them this season. I’ve also opted to double up and back Cardiff as my away team option, who I think will be excellent away to Port Vale.

Notes
- Goalkeeper – I’ve gone with Hermansen (or whoever starts for Leicester on Sunday). Sheffield Wednesday looked poor in GW1, and Leicester have a strong 62% clean sheet chance. I want coverage here with at least one Leicester defender or keeper.
- Defence- I’ve stayed away from Leicester defenders – despite likely dominating, I expect fewer defensive actions.
- Demetriou is my captain. He’s an EFL legend and always racks up defensive actions. The fixture isn’t a nailed clean sheet, but his haul potential is strong.
- Piergianni is another defender who loves defensive work. Stevenage had 17 clean sheets last season (7th-best) and have a 40% CS chance this week.
- Bobby Thomas (Coventry) completes my backline. He’s got goal threat (five goals last season) and Coventry are solid at home with a settled team.
- Midfield – Hamer (Sheffield United) is a standout pick. He shoots often (important for this format) and averages 2+ key passes per game over the last two seasons.
- Rudoni (Coventry) is on corners, free-kicks, and made 78 key passes last season (2+ per game), with nine goals and 12 assists. He’s their talisman and a great pick at home.
- Forward – Matthew Dennis faces a weakened Salford defence that lost key players and conceded 10 shots on target to Crewe. Dennis averages 1+ SOT per 90 in League Two – he’s my pick for value up front.
- Team Strategy – I’m backing: Leicester – Best win odds this GW and a clear mismatch vs. Wednesday. Coventry – Strong at home, settled XI, and up against an unsettled Hull side. Only Van Ewijk might leave, but Kesler Hayden is ready to step in.
