Top Picks for Women’s EURO Fantasy Matchday 4

If you’re looking to get ahead in the game, this article covers the top picks for Women’s EURO Fantasy Matchday 4. With team news, fixture difficulty, and player form in mind, we’ve identified the best options to give your squad the strongest possible start.
Whether you’re chasing clean sheets or hunting for attacking returns, these are the standout names to consider ahead of the new round.
Goalkeepers

Owning a goalkeeper from each side of the draw will be crucial in the latter stages of the competition. Since the game between France and Germany is too tough to call, we could look to Spain. Spain are one of the tournament favourites, which gives fantasy managers all the more reason to back Adriana Nanclares in-between the sticks.
We are yet to see Sweden’ full potential. Whilst they dispatched Germany in the previous round, they did so with the help of a Germany red card. They also scraped past Denmark who lost all three of their matches. With this in mind, we could look to Hannah Hampton who plays for another tournament favourite in England.
On the same side of the draw, Norway face off against Italy. Calling the outcome of the game is tough, so backing either Laura Giulliani of Italy or Cecile Fiskerstrand of Norway could lead to success.
Defenders

Arguably the standout defender heading into Matchday 4 is Sakina Karchaoui. The PSG star is an in-game defender, but plays in central midfield. As well as being closer to goal in comparison to most other defenders in the game, she also takes penalties for France, giving her multiple routes to points on top of clean sheet potential.
Spain come up against Switzerland which is side they are expected to win and win well against. It could also be a good opportunity to pick up a clean sheet. One of their better options at the back is Ona Batlle. Batlle has significant attacking threat, which is reflective in the four goals and eight assists she amassed for the Catalans last season in the league.
Sweden v England is another mammoth clash we could look to. Both sides offer huge potential in defence. Whilst England’ Lucy Bronze offers attacking threat, she also offers ball recovery potential – having managed 18 ball recoveries in her first three outings.
In the same game, Sweden centre-back Nathalie Bjorn could also be a great route to ball recoveries. Matchday 2 was a perfect example of her potential – there she accumulated a huge 14 ball recoveries which provided owners with an additional four points.

Midfielders

As well as being tournament favourites, Spain have also been in fantastic attacking form – having racked up a huge 14 goals in their first three matches. Instrumental in that success was Alexia Putellas who has already amassed a jaw-dropping three goals and four assists.
Investing in the Spain attack outside of Putellas could be absolutely crucial judging by her large ownership. Another player who has impressed is winger Mariona Caldentey. Although less explosive, Caldentey has scored and created two assists in her three matches.
Germany assets could well go under the radar this week after their disastrous 4-1 loss in the previous round. Consistent output can be rare this competition, but that is exactly what Jule Brand has been offering – with two goals and two assists already.
There are lots of fantastic options to pick from this week, including: Norway’ Frida Maanum who faces Italy, England penalty taker Georgia Stanway v Sweden, Sweden’ Filippa Angeldahl in the same game, and France’ Grace Geyoro who meets with Germany.
Forwards

Arguably the standout forward heading into the new round is Esther Gonzalez. Gonzalez spearheads the in-form and relentless Spain frontline and does so in great form. She is one of few players who has managed an attacking return in each of her first three outings, and faces Switzerland next up.
As mentioned, wins against Netherlands and England show France are serious contenders in the competition. Scoring two goals and registering two assists in just two features, Delphine Cascarino has been one of the most exciting players in attack.
Another tournament contender is England. Whilst their loss to France in the opening round was surprising for many, they then went on to thrash Netherlands 4-0 and Wales 6-1. If they want to continue that top form this week then Alessia Russo will have to be on her game. Russo has produced a goal and three assists during her first three matches – making her a great option in the round of 16.
Sweden’ Stina Blackstenius, and France’ Marie-Antoinette are two more potential picks for Matchday 4. Both have made a fantastic start to the EURO’s.
