Club World Cup Matchday 6 Best Captains

If you aren’t sure which players to captain this week, then you are in the right place! We take a look at the Club World Cup Matchday 6 Fantasy best captains, whilst also highlighting differential alternatives.

Captaincy is absolutely crucial for the success of most fantasy managers, so making sure we get it right could be hugely influential on final rank and mini-league position, so let’s get to it!

Chelsea v Fluminense

Club World Cup Matchday 6 Best Captains

On Tuesday Chelsea face-off against Fluminense. The Blues should be somewhat familiar with Brazilian sides thus far – having faced three of them in their first five matches.

Fluminense have impressed both defensively and offensively, but they have failed to score in two of their matches. They also come up against a side who have netted a huge 12 goals already – averaging 2+ goals scored per game.

The above, and taking into account that Chelsea are bookmakers favourites to progress, makes captaining a Chelsea attacker potentially a good decision. Given his penalty taking duty, likelihood of playing 90 minutes most matches and his recent form, midfielder Cole Palmer (€9.6m) could be the pick of the bunch.

Outside of Cole Palmer, Chelsea have several alternatives for those looking to go different. One is fellow midfielder Pedro Neto (€6.5m), a player who has already netted on three occasions in the competition so far.

Fluminense’ inconsistencies in front of goal could appeal those who want a piece of the Chelsea defence and attack. Filling that role would be full-back Marc Cucurella (€5.8m). The Spaniard has produced three shots on target and six key passes in his previous two matches alone.

Real Madrid v PSG

Club World Cup Matchday 6 Best Captains

If managers fail to secure a decent return in the first game between Chelsea and Fluminense, then they will have to rely on the Peal Madrid v PSG game.

There is no telling which way the game will go – a clash between European Champions and a Real Madrid side who have been there or there abouts in the latter stages of most Champions League campaigns could really go either way.

There are plenty of great options to pick from this week, but one that has relentlessly performed for managers is Achraf Hakimi (€6.5m). The Moroccan doesn’t just offer defensive potential having banked four clean sheets in the his five matches, but he has also scored or assisted in each of his last three games.

We could well see goals in the game, so backing each sides standout attacking asset with the armband could be a great alternative.

In Real Madrid’ case forward Vinicius Junior (€11m) stands out. The Brazilian hasn’t been as consistent as budget striker Gonzalo Garcia, but he is more explosive and more likely to play 90 minutes.

For PSG, Ousmane Dembele (€10m) could be the best of the bunch. The Frenchman was excellent throughout his Ligue 1 and Champions League campaigns last season – placing himself among the top five attackers in Europe for goals and assists across all competitions.
