Notes

  • Several things have changed since my first draft, but my chip plan remains the same. I will be wildcarding in Matchday 3. This allows me to navigate the potential rotation and also invest in teams like England and other teams who should have something to play for.
  • I like Italy, but not keen on their defenders so I have backed Laura Giuliani. I also really like Netherlands’ clean sheet odds against Wales so Daphne van Domselaar is my back-up.
  • In defence, Germany’ Guilia Gwinn and Spain’ Ona Batlle are locks due to attacking threat.
  • Sweden also have a two good chances to keep a clean sheet, their safest option appears to be Nathalie Bjorn. She is joined by Kerstin Casparij who completes the Netherlands double defence.
  • No England concerns me, even with very tough fixtures, so I’m backing Lucy Bronze just in case.
  • Rotation in the forward line makes doubling up on the relentless Spain midfield a wise move. To do that both Mariona Caldentey and Alexia Pustellas take their place.
  • Other shoo-ins include Germany Klara Buhl and Italy’ Manuela Giugliano, both have been exceptional recently. As a Chelsea fan, and one looking for a first-day captain, Guro Reiten makes the cut. Norway have a good opening fixture against Switzerland so she could haul.
  • Up front, Germany’ Lea Schuller is too good to leave out.
  • Two new additions to my team are Sweden’ Stina Blackstenius and Netherlands’ Vvianne Miedema. Blackstenius has been in top form lately and has two great fixtures. Miedema faces Wales so could have huge success. England in Matchday 2 means Miedema will join me for just one round.
  • Good luck everyone!
