Which teams have the best opening Premier League 2025/26 fixtures?

Although we’re still early in the footballing summer, Wednesday morning brought the release of all 2025/26 Premier League fixtures, allowing FPL managers to identify the best and worst early runs.

Here’s a quick overview of Gameweeks 1 to 6, with links to each club’s full schedule included.

GAMEWEEKS 1 TO 6

Back in the top-flight after eight seasons away, Sunderland have arguably been handed the best early 2025/26 fixtures. However, FPL managers are likely to stay away from a side tipped to be of similar quality to last year’s Southampton.

They’ll host West Ham on the opening Saturday before visiting fellow promoted side Burnley and taking on Brentford, who’ve just lost their head coach, with Bryan Mbeumo likely also about to depart.

The Bees actually have an appealing start of their own, while managers look at ways to invest in Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Chelsea. Expect high early ownership numbers for the likes of Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers, Jarrod Bowen, Marc Cucurella and Cole Palmer.

Meanwhile, the other North East-based side seems to have the toughest start. Newcastle must visit Villa and host Liverpool initially, also facing Arsenal by the end of Gameweek 6. The Gunners themselves travel to Man United in Gameweek 1, beginning a tricky-looking run for both.

So, it may not be popular to initially pick premium players Alexander Isak or Bukayo Saka.
