Club World Cup Fantasy 2025: Ulsan HD Best Picks, Predicted Line-up and Team Overview

Club World Fantasy 2025 is here! Continuing with our team previews, we take a look at the Ulsan HD best picks, predicted line-up and team overview.
Knowing how a team could line-up and their best assets could be absolutely key for success in Club World Cup Fantasy. Helping us is @BullyMaguire619.
Team Overview

Ulsan HD earned their spot in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup by being one of the top-performing Asian clubs over a four-year stretch in the AFC Champions League, from 2021 to 2024.
Their consistent success – highlighted by a semi-final appearance in the 2023–24 edition – helped them rank among the best in the Asian Football Confederation, which awarded spots based on long-term club performance rather than a single tournament win.
Ulsan have had plenty of success as of late – winning K League 1 in 2024 – five points ahead of second place Gimcheon. This season they seem to have dropped off after a ropey start to the campaign – sitting third and six points off top spot.
Recent form has been mixed for the South Korean side. Although only losing one of their previous six matches, Ulsan drew two and won three. They also kept just one clean sheet during those same fixtures.
Group and Fixtures
Ulsan join Fluminense FC (BRA), Borussia Dortmund (GER), and Mamelodi Sundowns FC (RSA) in Group F.

Their schedule looks like this:
- Matchday 1 – Mamelodi Sundowns
- Matchday 2 – Fluminense
- Matchday – Dortmund
Ulsan kick off their Club World Cup campaign by facing off with Mamelodi Sundowns. This is a game they could win and that is reflective in the fact they are slight favourites for the win.
Things get considerably more difficult after that though. They the go into Matchday 2 and 3 and significant underdogs.
Predicted line-up

Substitutions
- Heo Yool (FW €4.3) instead of an attacker (possible sub in the 60-70th min). When subbed in Farias usually players at CAM and Heo Yool goes up top.
- Yoon Jae-seok (DF €4M) for Lacava (possible sub in the 45th min). Yoon is a bargain. Because of his under-22 status he starts every game in the K League as a left-winger/left forward and plays 45 minutes. If he is trusted to start at the CWC or is going share minutes with Lacava, he can be the best DF asset from Ulsan HD because he is a LW/LF not a DF.
- Lee Chung-Yong (MF €4.7) for Um Won-Sang (50:50 chance of either starting and sharing mins). Yes, this is the Lee Chung-Yong that played for Bolton and Palace. He is near retirement but still an important player for the team. Um Won-Sang has a nickname “Um Salah” due to his rapid speed and his ability to create chances, but Lee Chung-Yong’s veteran ability allows him to start every game currently. I chose Um to start but Lee definitely can start every match and share 45 mins.
Top Picks
“Forward Erick Farias (€6m) is bit expensive for the Ulsan HD team status, but he is the talisman and in form player. He is also potentially on penalty duty as well”.
Midfielder Bojanic (€5.6m) – Without him, we cannot attack. He is the Pirlo and Iniesta of our team, influencing every aspect of the pitch. He is a DM/CM, which makes him a less enjoyable pick, but he is possibly on all the set pieces, and nailed”.
“If you want to pick a bit more cheaper, but still nailed, go for Ko Seung-Beom (€5.2m). He is more of a CAM/CM type player, so will move forward in counters, also potentially on corners”.

“Defender Kang Sang-Woo (€4.3m) – He can play LB and RB. He is the most versatile and nailed defender along with Kim Young-Gwon ( whoscored in the world cup against Germany and Portugal) and Seo Myeong-Guan (young talent with great aerial threat). As I mentioned previously, if Yoon Jae-Seok starts, he might be a great DF asset as he is a LW, but his mins are a risk. So if you want a nailed and cheap Ulsan DF, go for Kang Sang-Woo“.
“Goalkeeper: Jo Hyeon-Woo (€5.1m) – he is the starting goalkeeper for South Korea. He is the guy who made those saves against Germany in the 2018 World Cup. I don’t see any other keeper starting instead of him”.
There we have it, our Ulsan HD Best Picks, Predicted Line-up and Team Overview. Will you be picking any of their players?
