FPL Gameweek 36 Best Wildcard Team

Not sure how your Wildcard should look? Don’t fear, we have put together the FPL Gameweek 36 Best Wildcard Team, which should boost you up the rankings.

To do this, we use Fantasy Football Scout’s Members Area and the fantastic Plan FPL tool.

One of several chips provided by the game, the Wildcard allows managers to make an unlimited number of free transfers to their squad. The moves made in this one Gameweek can both fix problems and plan for the future. It’s an extremely useful weapon.

Fixtures

Below is Fantasy Football Scout’s ranking of fixture difficulty over the final three Gameweeks. Teams at the top have the easiest set, while those at the bottom have the toughest ones.

Who has the best fixtures?

Awkwardly, the already-relegated Ipswich are deemed to have the most appealing schedule. After them are two sides still competing for Champions League spots: Nottingham Forest and Manchester City.

Even Aston Villa, lower in the ticker, will feel that a place is still gettable. They’re in the enviable position of facing both of the distracted Europa League duo: Manchester United and Tottenham.

Brentford’s three successive wins and promising fixtures keep them firmly in the race for eighth place.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Elsewhere, not only are Crystal Palace low here, but they have an imminent FA Cup final. And returns are drying up for the Ismaila Sarr (£5.7m), Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.7m) and Daniel Munoz (£5.3m) trio.

Liverpool proved on Sunday that they don’t have to try anymore, while Southampton are simply hoping to grab the one point that stops them from being the joint-worst ever Premier League team.

Best Gameweek 36 Wildcard

Using the PlanFPL website, here is the best Wildcard squad for Gameweek 36 and beyond:

Defence

This assumes there are no other chips to play at this late stage. Without a Bench Boost to worry about, cheap goalkeepers Mark Flekken (£4.4m) and Alphonse Areola (£4.2m) rotate well.

Perhaps William Saliba (£6.6m) is an expensive defender to sideline until the final day but there’s enough money in the bank to afford this luxury. Besides, Arsenal could certainly keep out Newcastle in Gameweek 37.

Targeting Southampton is a sensible strategy. Goal-scoring Josko Gvardiol (£6.4m) will expect to collect a fifth clean sheet in seven when Man City go to St Mary’s, before the Saints become Goodison Park’s final ever visitors. It’s worth having Vitalii Mykolenko (£4.3m) on such an emotional day.

Meanwhile, the generally solid Newcastle and Forest backlines have at least one fixture you’d want coverage of during this tense Champions League chase.

Midfield

Although it’s seen as a disadvantage to use such a powerful chip with so few Gameweeks remaining, it does encourage extremely maverick short-term punts that can skyrocket managers to a strong finish. For example, going for Anthony Elanga (£5.4m) over Morgan Rogers (£5.7m).

28-goal Mohamed Salah (£13.8m) is chasing the European Golden Shoe and is worth keeping, while there’s still time to buy a ticket for Kevin De Bruyne‘s (£9.5m) farewell tour, following Friday’s winner over Wolves. He’s started Man City’s latest five league outings and the final ones look appealing, as they look to secure a top-five spot.

Bryan Mbeumo (£8.2m) feels essential, boasting multiple routes to points and a tally that’s already over 200. He bagged a brace against Ipswich in Gameweek 9.

Another in-form talisman is West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen (£7.7m). He hasn’t registered consecutive blanks during his latest 17 appearances, a period of seven goals and six assists. Owners will be confident about the Man United trip, considering the home side’s heavy weekend rotation.

In midfield, the big decision was not pursuing Bukayo Saka (£10.3m). His game time is unpredictable, though he does meet Southampton on the final day.

Forwards

Up front, Alexander Isak‘s (£9.6m) recent displays have been quiet but he’s still found a way to score three goals in four. Newcastle have a huge, must-win clash at home to Chelsea, where St James’ Park will be deafening.

Chris Wood (£7.0m) netted twice past Leicester in Gameweek 9 and Brentford’s Yoane Wissa (£6.7m) did the same versus Ipswich the next day, though one remains an FPL assist because it wasn’t upgraded until after the Gameweek had closed. He’s scored four times in a row.

As for a final day transfer, maybe buying a Bournemouth player like Evanilson (£5.8m), Justin Kluivert (£6.0m) or Milos Kerkez (£5.3m) is wise, at home to Leicester.
