Best players to buy

FPL Planning for Gameweeks 36-38
  • Nottingham Forest – Matches against Leicester, West Ham and Chelsea could mean success for the Nottingham Forest assets. The cheapest route into the second best defence in the league is Neco Williams (£4.5m), but ranking among the three best defenders in the league for total big chances thus far is Nikola Milenkovic (£5.2m). In attack no-one stands out more than penalty taker and striker Chris Wood (£7m). Another option is midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White (£6.4m).
  • Manchester City – Manchester City face Southampton, Bournemouth and Fulham, so there is plenty of potential for their players. At the back, the best of the bunch is probably Josko Gvardiol (£6.4m), who leads every other defender for expected goals, he also scored recently in the Cup. Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne (£9.4m) could be gaining an edge over striker Omar Marmoush (£7.6m) as the standout attacker due to recent form, but both are fantastic options.
  • Brentford – With Ipswich, Fulham and Wolves up next, Brentford assets are about to get very popular. Two clean sheets and double-digit hauls could make goalkeeper Mark Flekken (£4.4m) a good pick for anyone needing an option between the sticks. Centre-back Nathan Collins (£4.5m) is his sides most reliable defender option for minutes and expected goals. Up front, penalty taker Bryan Mbeumo (£8.2m) is their best option based on consistency, but striker Yoane Wissa (£6.7m) is cheaper and has been excellent recently.

  • Jarrod Bowen (£7.7m) – Manchester United, Nottingham Forest and Ipswich could be great opportunities to continue the West Ham midfielders brilliant form. Bowen heads into that run with four returns in his previous four matches.
  • Wolves – Wolves are in brilliant form – winning four of their previous five matches. In defence, Rayan Ait-Nouri (£5m) has multiple routes to points due to his attacking threat. Up front, penalty taker Matheus Cunha (£7m) is the standout, but fellow striker Strand Larsen (£5.4m) could also have potential. Wolves have meetings with Brighton, Crystal Palace and Brentford in the next three.
  • Aston Villa – Looking to finish in a top five position, Aston Villa will have plenty of motivation against Bournemouth, Tottenham and Manchester United. Whilst their defence may not be the most appealing, their attack should be. Midfielder Morgan Rogers (£5.7m) remains cheap and reliable. Some could even consider striker Ollie Watkins (£8.9m) to finish the season strong.
